The scout movement (Pfadi)…
… is, with more than 22 000 girls
and 28 000 boys, Switzerland's
largest organization for young
people.
… is completely neutral in political
and religious matters.
… has over 38 million members
in more than 160 countries.
… exists where children live:
from villages to cities.
Our goals
Girl Guides and Boy Scouts live unforgettable
experiences, make friends and have heaps of
fun. At the same time they learn how to:
• take responsibility for themselves and
others
• be open-minded and show consideration
for others in social life
• organize their free time
• respect nature and behave with
environmental awareness.
As far as possible, each age group works out
its own activities.
Our activities
Whether in town or on the countryside,
indoors or outdoors, our events are as
various as the interests of our young
members:
• outdoor or indoor camps, with plenty of
do-it-yourself fun and adventure
• letting off steam, playing, cooking,
travelling together
• storytelling and singing around the camp
fire
• climbing rope ladders and bridges,
building huts: life in the great outdoors.
In the centre of our concern stand the group
activities – making plans, forging friendships, talking from the heart. Groups usually
meet on Saturday afternoon.
Age groups
Cubs ("Wölfli", boys) and
Brownies ("Bienli", girls)
(aged 8 to 11)
Scouts and Guides ("Pfadis"),
(aged 11 to 16)
Leaders
(16 and older)
The young leaders are well prepared for
their challenging task, and accordingly
trained in close cooperation with professional organizations (Jugend + Sport).
Costs
About CHF 50.– per year. Additionally,
modest charges are made for trips and visits, camp costs and special equipment
(such as scout shirt, rucksack, etc.).
