INTENDED USE
Please download the latest version of the installation
instructions from our website at www.rclogger.com. Navigate
to the product page and open the ”Downloads” tab. Click on

to attach, connect and operate accessories. Mind the max.

The retractable landing gear designed for the NovaX 350 offers advantages over the
regular landing gear. For instance, you can fly closer to the ground or if using a gimbal
the gear does not obstruct the view. The retractable gear is controlled via an auxiliary
2-position switch on the transmitter.
The product must not become damp or wet.
For safety and approval purposes (CE), you must not rebuild and/or modify this product.
If you use the product for purposes other than those described above, the product may
be damaged. In addition, improper use can cause hazards such as short circuiting, fire,
electric shock etc. Read the instructions carefully and keep them. Make this product
available to third parties only together with its instructions.

WHAT YOU NEED
(all are not supplied)
>> Philips screw driver (small)
>> Screwdriver with hex head (size: 2)
>> Pair of pliers
For your safety, remove the propellers and the flight battery
before you start installing the retractable landing gear.
Study the installation diagrams on the following pages
before you start the installation process.
1. Remove the flight battery from the NovaX 350.
2. Remove the propellers from the NovaX 350.
3. Turn the NovaX 350 upside down and place it on a soft surface.
4. Unpack the retractable legs and lay all parts out.
5. Start by removing the camera platform. [ 1 ]
6. Disconnect the receiver and remove it.
7. Unhook the rubber strap holding the flight battery in place.
8. Remove the 4 screws that hold the centre piece for the landing gear in place. [ 2 ]
9. Lift the centre piece out of the NovaX 350’s body. To do so, push the clamping piece
out from the bottom a little to release the rubber strap. [ 2 ]
10.Remove the dampers from the centre piece. [ 2 ]
11. Install dampers and clamping piece on the new centre piece for the rectractable legs. Mind
the direction. [ 3 ]
12.Insert the new centre piece into the NovaX 350’s body. [ 4 ]
13.Insert and loop the rubber strap by guiding it through the slot in clamping piece. [ 4 ]
14.Push the clamping piece into the slots in the centre piece and bolt the centre piece
down. [ 4 ]
15. Insert a long leg (side with the longer end) on either side into the retract mechanism. [ 5 ]
16.Lock the legs in place by tightening the 4 bolts on each side. [ 5 ]
17. Push a sleeve onto each skid with bolt facing towards bottom of skid and tighten the bolt
on each sleeve. [ 5 ]
18.Push skids onto the legs (red landing rubber pointing to nose of NovaX 350). Make
sure the balls lock in place. [ 5 ]
19.Install a spring on either side. [ 6 ]
20.Mount the receiver again and connect the receiver cables.
21.Replace the camera platform. [ 7 ]

22.Remove the canopy from the NovaX 350.

23.Guide the cables of the retract motors along the inside of the battery compartment
towards the nose of the NoxaX 350 then up and along the sides of the two front
electronic speed controllers (ESC) to the power board. [ 8 ]
24.Connect the cables of the retract motors to the RETRACT header pins on the power
board on the corresponding sides. Mind the direction of the nose on the connector as
indicated next to the header pin. [ 8 ]
25.If there is a lot of cable slag the canopy cannot be mounted properly. Remove slag by
carefully pulling the cables towards the nose and then locking them by guiding them
carefully between the electronic speed controllers of the two front motors. [ 8 ]
26.Secure each cable by means of a cable tie on the NovaX 350’s body. [ 8 ]
27.Replace the canopy.
FUNCTION TEST
If you use the RC Logger R8 Radio System (89102RC) a
2-position switch has been assigned to the rectractable legs
during the learning procedure.
If you use your own transmitter, assign a 2-position switch to
channel 7 (Ch 7).
28.Turn on the transmitter.
29.Insert the flight battery and establish the power connection.
30.Assign a 2-position switch to channel 7.
»» Not applicable to RC Logger R8 Radio System 89102RC.
31.Hold the NovaX 350 up into the air. [ 9 ]
32.Flip the 2-position switch assigned to channel 7 to test retraction and lowering of the
landing gear. [ 9 ]
»» RC Logger R8 Radio System 89102RC: Switch ‘SWA’ (Ch 7). Position 1:
Landing gear is lowered. Position 2: Landing gear retracted.
33.Install the propellers again.
34.Installation and test completed. [ 10 ]
NOTES
>> Do not continuously flip the switch assigned to the retractable landing gear.
>> It is not possible to stop the gear when being retracted or lowered respectively. In other
words, the landing gear is either fully lowered or retracted and will always complete a
fully cycle (‘fully down’ or ‘fully up’).
>> Do not place the NovaX 350 on the ground with landing gear retracted and then lower
the landing gear.
>> Do not put weights on the landing gear.
CLEANING AND CARE
>> The product does not require any maintenance, do not disassemble it. Maintenance or
repairs may be carried out by a professional only.
>> Do not let liquid enter the retract motors.
>> Clean the exterior of the retract motors using a clean, soft, dry cloth only.
>> Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions as these may
damage the housing causing discoloration and/or malfunction.
DISPOSAL
In order to preserve, protect and improve the quality of environment, protect
human health and utilise natural resources prudently and rationally, the user
should return unserviceable product to relevant facilities in accordance with
statutory regulations. The crossed-out wheeled bin indicates the product needs
to be disposed separately and not as municipal waste.
