Finished in cellulose black with oatmeal
leather upholstery, this particular example
is described by the vendor as being in
"good" condition with regard to its 1776cc
engine, four-speed manual gearbox,
electrical equipment, interior trim, chassis,
bodywork, paintwork and wheels / tyres.
Reportedly "restored by the current owner
between 1978 and 1983", 'BHH 903' is
since said to have "won many awards" and
to have been "a regular attendee at the
NEC Classic Car Show on the Triumph
stand throughout the 1980s". Indeed, the
seller is "a past membership secretary of the Triumph Roadster Club". As such, he
has kindly informed us that "This car is one of the first 200 built and varies slightly
from later models. It has fold down window runners on the doors and a slight variation
on the hood mechanism. The gear change has a floor change conversion, and for
safety is fitted with flashing indicators instead of trafficators. The car has recently
been fully serviced with new brake cylinders, shoes and hoses fitted. A new battery
has also been installed and radial tyres are almost new covering less than 1,000
miles since being put on. The exhaust system and petrol tank are both stainless steel.
The two things that don't work are the clock and temperature gauge". Riding on steel
wheels, this early Triumph Roadster is offered for sale with MOT certificate valid until
October 18th 2007 and historic class (free) road tax until September 30th 2007.
PLEASE NOTE: We apologise but this vehicle has been withdrawn from the 22nd
November 2006 auction.
