KAREN MARUYAMA is having a blast directing
the Main show again. She is a Main company
alum who enjoys teaching here and at the
American Film Institute. She also directs the
acclaimed show The Black Version at the
Largo Theater. She appeared in the films THE
CAMPAIGN, THE BUCKET LIST and PULP
FICTION. Her television credits include 2
BROKE GIRLS, ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT,
NIP/TUCK, GHOST WHISPERER and has lent
her voice to THE SIMPSONS, FUTURAMA,
AMERICAN DAD and FAMILY GUY.
Scott Beehner’s television appearances include

Timothy played Jack Flynn the head of GM on MAD

Nickelodeon and countless appearances on JIMMY

Lauren’s TV credits include 2 BROKE GIRLS,
MIGHTY MED, GO ON, WHITNEY, and
WEEDS. She has appeared in numerous
commercials, independent films, and has
performed with UCB in LA and Killing My
Lobster in SF. She cocreated a popular web
series about motherhood called TODAY IN
THE PARK. She attended the Stella Adler
Conservatory in the Big Apple. Lauren loves

Recently, Jim blackmailed Groundlings Alumni
Melissa McCarthy & Ben Falcone for a role in
their next film, MICHELLE DARNELL. Before
that, Michaela Watkins and Damon Jones were
coerced into hiring Jim as a staff writer for their
series BENCHED. Jim also wrote for SNL (dirt on
Kristen Wiig & Will Forte) and for THE LOONEY
TUNES SHOW (Hugh Davidson’s tragic slip-up).
In 2006, Jim caught Broadway legend James
Lapine in a very compromising position, so
he got to play ‘Vice Principal Panch’ in the 1st
tour of THE 25th ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY
SPELLING BEE. In his free time, Jim texts
Stephanie Courtney pictures of what she did until
she gets him in another Progressive commercial.
Tony’s an Eagle Scout, a Black Belt, and a
proud graduate of the Virginia Military Institute
(where he learned SO MUCH about acting.)
He’s performed in the Montreal Just For Laughs
comedy festival, written for the CBS diversity
showcase, and is a founding member of the
longform improv group Robert Downey Jr.
Jr. Some of his credits include Paramount’s
GHOST TEAM ONE, A MANY SPLINTERED
THING, 2 BROKE GIRLS, and HART OF
DIXIE. He’s stoked to be shredding on the
Groundlings stage and owes any comedic
ability to his mom, dad, bro, and Annie (as well
as his two rescue mutts; Tippi & Lucy).

Matt’s TV credits include: CLIPPED, THE
COMEBACK, MOM, 2 BROKE GIRLS,
WHITNEY, AUSTIN & ALLY, KICKIN’ IT,
HARRY’S LAW, TRUE BLOOD, and CURB
YOUR ENTHUSIASM. Stage credits include:
Fairy Tale Theater 18 & Over, The Servant of
Two Masters, and Twelfth Night. Matt received
his BA from Rider University. He grew up on
the Jersey shore and although he lived a block
and half from the beach he spent most of his
time indoors playing Sega Genesis. Matt is a
member of the sketch group BIG BOSS and of
the Dungeons & Dragons podcast CRIT JUICE
(there’s that indoor kid thing coming into play.)
Matt is thrilled to be a member of the Groundlings Main Company!
Laurel grew up on the East Coast, went to Colby
College in Maine followed by the Circle in the
Square Acting Conservatory in New York City.
Before moving to Los Angeles, Laurel studied
and performed comedy in Chicago at Second
City and ImprovOlympic. She also spent a year
performing with Boom Chicago in Amsterdam.
She can be seen in the movie CRAZY, STUPID,
LOVE and on TV shows including ARRESTED
DEVELOPMENT, MODERN FAMILY,
THE OFFICE, 2 BROKE GIRLS, HOT IN
CLEVELAND and WORKAHOLICS. Laurel also
plays the character “Jan” in a series of Toyota
commercials.
H Michael is currently playing the role of Josh
on Comedy Central’s REVIEW and voicing
multiple characters on the upcoming Disney
animated show PICKLE AND PEANUT. Other
credits include CLIPPED, IDIOTSITTER,
NOW WE KNOW, WORKAHOLICS, MOM,
DON’T TRUST THE B IN APT 23, HOT IN

Allison will appear in the first season of the

by Steve and Nancy Carell. She is also a
regular on Hulu’s fully improvised comedy,

CRIMINAL MINDS, and RIZZOLI & ISLES.
Allison is also a professional burlesque dancer.
She is currently appearing in SMOKESHOW
at Harvelle’s in Santa Monica. She also
cooks. Triple threat y’all. Allison thinks Kevin
Kirkpatrick needs help.
Chris Eckert is from Hayward, California. His
credits include SUPER FUN NIGHT, DOIN’ IT
YOURSELF (pilot), and I SNATCHED ANDY
WARHOL and RAISING HOPE, which won
the 2013 GLAAD award for best episode.
Chris is a graduate of The American Academy
of Dramatic Arts and a founding member
of the sketch group, The Gym. Beyond the
Groundlings, you can find him at UCB, The
