Das österreichische Bildungssystem ähnelt stark
dem Bildungssystem in der Schweiz und in
Deutschland. Ein wesentliches Merkmal des österreichischen Systems ist die vierjährige Primarausbildung, gefolgt von einer Sekundarausbildung,
die sich in zwei Abschnitte gliedert.
The Austrian education system is very similar to the
education systems in Switzerland and Germany. A
defining characteristic of the Austrian system is the
four-year primary education, followed by a secondary education that is divided into two parts.
Die Unterteilung erfolgt nach der ISCED (International Standard Classification of Education) Klassifizierung der UNESCO. Das Bundesministerium für
Unterricht, Kunst und Kultur koordiniert wichtige
Aufgaben wie Ausbildung der Lehrer/innen und
Erhaltung der Schulen, das Bundesministerium für
Wissenschaft und Forschung übernimmt die Steuerung des Universitäts- und Hochschulsystems.
This division is based on UNESCO’s International
Standard Classification of Education (ISCED). The
Federal Ministry for Education, Arts and Culture coordinates essential tasks such as teacher training and
the maintenance of schools, while the Federal Ministry of Science and Research is responsible for managing the university and higher education system.

Euroguidance
Das Euroguidance-Zentrum Österreich ist Schnittstelle zwischen Bildungs- und Berufsberatung in
Österreich und Europa. Die Zielgruppe des Zentrums sind Bildungs- und Berufsberatende in
Österreich und Europa.
The Euroguidance Centre Austria is a hub for education and career counselling in Austria and Europe.
The centre’s target group comprises guidance counsellors in Austria and Europe.
Durch die Zusammenarbeit der nationalen Euroguidance-Zentren in Europa wird die grenzübergreifende Bildungs- und Berufsberatung gefördert
und weiterentwickelt. Das Euroguidance-Netz­
werk unterstützt durch Information die Mobilität
innerhalb Europas und stärkt den grenzüberschreitenden Erfahrungsaustausch.
Die Webseite www.euroguidance.at bietet neben Informationen zum Bildungssystem und
zu Bildungs- und Berufsberatungsangeboten in
Österreich und Europa auch eine umfassende
Link­sammlung für Beraterinnen und Berater.
The collaboration between the national Euroguidance Centres throughout Europe helps to foster and
further develop the system of cross-border education
and career counselling. The Euroguidance Network
provides information to encourage mobility within
Europe and intensify the exchange of experiences
between nations.
