BORIS GOLDSTEIN – HIS LIFE
Boris Goldstein (Busya Goldstein) (1922 – 1987) was born in Odessa and has
been recognized at a young age as one of the brightest violin stars. At the age of
10 he played with the Moscow Radio Orchestra Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto,
with which he established a startling career. His teachers include Pjotr Stoljarski, Abram Jampolsky, Lev Zeitlin and Konstantin Mostras. The young violinist soon won prizes at renowned competitions in Moscow, Warsaw and
Brussels, followed by numerous successful concerts in various European capitals.
As a teenager, Boris Goldstein, was singled out by Heifetz as being USSR’s
most brilliant violin talent. Other famous musicians such as Fritz Kreisler, Sergej Prokofieff and Yehudi Menuhin admired Goldstein’s way of playing. Goldstein has made various recordings with Violin and Chambermusic pieces,
amongst them works that have been dedicated especially to him. Prokofieff’s
Violin Concerto No. 2 has been premiered by Goldstein conducted by the componist himself.
In 1974, Boris Goldstein left the USSR and emigrated to Germany, where in
1976 he was appointed professor for violin at the «Hochschule für Musik Würzburg». His solo appearances in Germany and Western Europe were memorable highlights of his brilliant career.
Wherever he played, he was acclaimed by audiences and critics, the London
Daily Telegraph praising him in 1986 as a «legendary violinist and a master of
the great Slav school of violin playing». From 1981 onwards, Boris Goldstein
was joined by his daughter Julia on enormously successful tours through Germany, Spain, Italy, France and Belgium.
As a teacher Goldstein, was regarded one of the most accomplished in his field.
Many of his pupils won prizes at a highly prestigious of international violin competitions. In 2004, he was featured as one of the greatest violinists of the 20th Century in the documentary film «The Art of Violin», aired on PBS under the program «Great Performances». Boris Goldstein died in Hanover in 1987.

Zakhar Bron has been a prize winner at the
world’s most prestigious competitions,
including the Queen Elisabeth Competition
in Brussels and the Henryk Wieniawski
Violin Competition in Poznan.
Zakhar Bron gained fame when he left the
Moscow Conservatorium of Music to move
to distant Siberia. Far away from political
influences in the capital, he created a new
world elite of violinists. Through his silent
revolution in Siberia, Bron developed the
greatest violin talents of today’s concert
halls. Vadim Repin, Maxim Vengerov and
Natalia Prischepenko are only a few of
the illustrious names to emerge from this
period of Bron’s teaching. After helping the
conservatorium of music in Novosibirsk to
international renown, Zakhar Bron began
to work beyond the borders of Russia,
teaching in Germany, Spain and Japan.
From this period of Bron’s teaching come
talents such as Chloe Hanslip, Daniel
Hope, Daishin Kashimoto and David Garrett
Today, Prof. Zakhar Bron teaches at the
conservatories of music in Zurich, Switzerland (ZHdK), Cologne, Germany, and at the
Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía in
Madrid, Spain. He teaches master classes
in the United States, in South America,
Asia and Europe, and since 2010 has been
involved in various new developments at
the Interlaken Classics Festival in Inter-
laken/Switzerland. He travels the globe,
performing as a soloist on the world’s
greatest stages and working as a juror for
many international competitions.
Ida Haendel was a child prodigy. Competition wins opened the doors to study with
such esteemed pedagogues as Carl Flesch
and Georges Enescu. With her incandescent performances of Enescu’s challenging
Sonata for Violin and Piano, Ms. Haendel
has paid tribute to a teacher she has
described as «spellbinding – one of the
world’s great geniuses.»
From the moment the three-year-old
picked up her father’s violin and played
note-perfectly a song her mother had been
singing in another room, Ida Haendel has
never stopped performing. She supplants
performances with master classes which
are filled with wisdom and inspiration. Her
protestations that she doesn’t really want
«to tell anybody how to play» should not be
taken seriously. Results prove otherwise.
Ida Haendel has performed with most of
the major orchestras under numerous star
conductors on several continents and has
been traversing concert stages for more
than 70 years and has no intention of
slowing down.
Her long and celebrated career continues
as she continues to have an active performing career. Recent performances include
a special appearance as Honorary Artist in
Cambridge at the Cambridge International
String Festival in August of 2012 and most
recently she performed the Bruch Violin
Concerto in Miami Florida with Grzegorz
Nowak Principal Associate Conductor at
Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
Born in Israel, Yair Kless began playing the
violin at the early age. He graduated from
Tel Aviv Music Academy, under the tutelage
of Israel Amidan. He moved to Brussels
to study with Prof. Andre Gertler in the
Royal conservatory and Chapelle-Musicale
Reine-Elizabeth, graduating with the
highest distinction in both instrumental
and chamber music.
Yair quickly became a well known soloist
performer and chamber player. His vast
repertoire ranges from Baroque to Modern,
including premieres of works, some of
which were written especially for or dedicated to him.
Yair was one of the founders and first
violinist of the Sol-La-Re string quartet,
recording among others, major works by
Israeli composers. He was a member of
the «Israeli Baroque Players» which toured
extensively around the world, such as
participating at the prestigious Salzburg
Festival. Other ensembles and groups
include the «Tel-Aviv piano quartet», USA
based «New Art Trio», Modus Trio, Modus
Ensemble and many international projects
and festivals. He enjoys collaborating with
his son Eyal, in Duo violin repertoire.
As one of the most prominent teachers in
the world today, many of Yair‘s students
have reached successful solo and chamber
careers, winning prizes in the competitions
and holding key teaching and performing
positions.
Violinist Bartek Niziol was born in Stettin,
Poland, in 1974 and studied with Jadwiga
Kliszewskain Poznan and Pierre Amoyal
in Lausanne. He attended Master Class
courses with Zachar Bron, Ruggiero Ricci,
Mauricio Fuks and Michael Frischen-
schlager.
Whilst still studying in Poznan in 1991 he
won first prize at the International Henryk
Wieniawski Competition, as well as first
prize at the International Violin Competion
in Adelaide. In the following year he also
won first prize at the International Violin
Competition in Pretoria,Eurovision in
Brussels, and the Marguerite Long-Jacques Thibaud Competition in Paris.These
awards enabled him to debut as soloist
with orchestras such as English ChamberOrchestra, Orchestre Philharmonique de
Radio France, NDR Hamburg, New JapanPhilharmonic, Sinfonia Varsovia and Ton-
halle-Orchester Zurich. Conductors with
whom he has worked as soloist include
Yehudi Menhuin, David Zinman, Marek
Janowski, Heinrich Schiff and Krzysztof
Penderecki.
Concert tours have taken Bartek Niziol to
Asia, Africa, South America and throughout
Europe.
Bartek Niziol is leader of the Valentin Berlinsky Quartet (founded in Zurich in 2010).
SinceSeptember 2008 Bartek Niziol has
been Professor of Violin at the Bern Hochschule der Künste. He also sits on the Jury
for the International Henryk Wieniawski
Competition in Poznan as well the Instrumental Competition of Migros Culture in
Zurich.

Igor Ozim was born in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
After finishing his studies in his hometown
he studied with Max Rostal in London,
winning the Carl-Flesch-Competition in
1951, followed by the first prize in the ARD
Competition Munich in 1953. This was
followed by an intense concert activity in
Europe and overseas. His large repertoire
encompasses some 60 violin concertos and
numerous chambermusic works. Many
contemporary works of which he has given
first performances are dedicated to him.
He has performed with important inter-
national orchestras such as the Berlin
Philharmonic, the London Philharmonic
Orchestra, the London Symphony Orche-
stra, the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the
Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra and many
others. Igor Ozim recorded extensively
from then classical as well as from the
contemporary repertoire. One of the most
sought-after violin teachers in Europe he
taught at the Musikhochschule in Cologne
and at the Hochschule für Künste Bern and
now he teaches at the Mozarteum in Salzburg/Austria. He has given masterclasses
all over the world and is jury member at
most of the important competitions.
One of the legends of the Soviet violin
school, Viktor Pikayzen was born in Kiev,
USSR and gave his full debut at the age of
9. Having heard the young virtuoso during
the war, David Oistrakh brought him to
Moscow where Pikayzen became the only
student the great master taught all the way
from music to school to the post-graduate
degree at Moscow Conservatory. In the
process, Pikayzen was a top prize winner
at the Tchaikovsky, Long-Thibaud, Queen
Elizabeth and Kubelik International Violin
Competitions, before winning the First
Prize at the «Premio Paganini» Competi-
tion in Genoa. His worldwide performing
career spans five continents and his repertoire not only encompasses the overwhelming majority of the violin repertoire but
also includes works dedicated to him by
composers such as Aram Khachaturian
and Boris Tchaikovsky. He is an esteemed
interpreter of Ysaye, Bach and Paganini,
having played the latter’s «24 Caprices» in
concert 78 times in his life. His discography
includes the complete sonatas of Beethoven, Brahms and Bach, with his daughter,
Tatyana Pikayzen, as well as most of the
standard violin repertoire.
He is currently a Professor at the Moscow
Conservatory, as well as at the Central
Music School and Schnittke Institute in
Russia, in addition to being a guest Professor at Conservatories in Turkey, Taiwan and
Japan. He is a frequent jury member at
some of the world’s most prestigious international violin competitions. Born in Bologna, Italy Maurizio Sciarretta
graduated from the «G.B. Martini» Conservatory of Music in his native city under the
tutelage of Maestro Luigi Rovighi.
From his youth he played as soloist with the
Orchestra del Conservatorio «G.B. Martini»
and with that of the Teatro Comunale of
Bologna with notable success. For his
advanced studies in December of 1995 he
moved to Lubeck, Germany, and subsequently to Cologne, where he was student
under Maestro Zakhar Bron of the famous
Russian school of David and Igor Oistrakh.
On 2002 he won First Prize and the special
«Paolo Borciani» award for the best performance of the Sonata for violin and piano
at the International Violin Competition
«Michelangelo Abbado». Maurizio Sciar-
retta is teaching violin at the acclaimed
«Incontri col Maestro» International Academy in Imola and at the «Istituto di Alta
Formazione Artistica e Musicale G. Lettimi»
of Rimini. Maurizio Sciarretta is also
assistant to Maestro Zakhar Bron in the
Interlaken Academy and in his Masterclasses in Zurich, Germany, Italy and abroad.
Maurizio Sciarretta took part as member
of jury in important International Violin
Competitions as «Wieniawsky-Lipinsky» in
Lublin. Michael Stricharz, professor of violin at
the Conservatory of Hamburg-Academy of
Music, was a pupil of the violinist Henryk
Szeryng. He performed as soloist and with
the chamber music at the big music
festivals Bayreuth, Edingburgh, Salzburg,
Berlin, Buenos Aires and others. He is
Chairman and member of the jury German
and international music competitions as
well as at the «Michael Stricharz competition» for young musicians, which took
place 16 times in the Ukraine and in the
Republic of Kazakhstan.
In addition Michael Stricharz is a Honorary
Member of the Richard Wagner Society
in Germany and the Henryk Wieniawski
Society in Poland, Professor Honoris Causa
and doctor Honoris Causa from music
academies and universities in Russia,
Ukraine, Poland and Kazakhstan. Supplementary he is also a honorary President of
the Lernberger Chamber Orchestra in the
Ukraine, Laureate of the International
Art Award «Olympus» in the year of 2005,
Knights, Officer and Commander of the
Order of Merit and culture of Germany,
Poland, Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan.

Akiko Tatsumi has graduated at Toho
Gakuen School of Music. She studied with
Sachko Gawriloff in West-Berlin and has
performed with Symphonie Orchester des
Norddeutschen Rundfunks, Radio Symphonie Orchester Frand and many others.
Under conductors such as Eliahu Inbal,
Gerd Albrecht, Zdenek Macal and so on.
In July she had many international competition and has given master classes in Europ, America and Asia. Every summer
Akiko Tatsumi is teaching at the International Summer Academy Mozarteum Salzburg and was a Teacher at the Hochschule
der Künste Berlin. Now she is the vice
president at Toho Gakuen School of Music.
Akiko Tatsumi is the music director Violin
Festa Tokyo at the Suntory Hall and also at
the Kasama International Musik Academy
in Japan.
Eva Zurbruegg ist born in Bern. With the
age of 4 yaers she began to play the violin.
She has a teacher diploma. Eva Zurbruegg
won several international competition including the frist price at the conservatoire
national de Paris, first price at the International Carl Flesch-Competition in London
and made a soloist diploma (H.H. Schneeberger) at the «Musik-Akademie Basel».
With Henry Szeryng she has further studies
and performed as soloist in international
concert and in chamber music ensembles.
Eva Zurbruegg starts to teach at the conservatory of music (violin and chamber
music) in Bern an as the Assistant of Prof.
Max Rostals materclass. She ist the head
of the departement «interpretation & performance» at the Hochschule der Künste
Bern.
Eva Zurbruegg was expert at the University
of Music in Zurich, Basel and Berne and
was also a member of the Jury at the
«International Violin-competition Wieniawski-Lipinsky» in 2009 and 2012.

MICHAEL GUTTMAN
Michael Guttman is an eminent violin soloist, conductor and music director
of festivals around the world. At age ten, he became the youngest student ever
to be admitted into the Brussels Royal Conservatory of Music. Encouraged by
his late mentor Isaac Stern, Guttman studied at the Juilliard School in New
York with Dorothy Delay, the Juilliard Quartet and Felix Galimir.
Guttman has earned critical acclaim from the New York Times for his «incredible wealth of tone colors and his sound of melting beauty», and was described by the Jerusalem Post as the «Chagall of violinists».
He has performed in halls such as London’s Barbican Centre, New York’s Avery Fisher Hall, Paris’s Salle Pleyel, Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw and
Tokyo’s Bunko Kaikan. He collaborated with the late conductor and composer
Lukas Foss at the Music Festival of the Hamptons, a relationship which initiated his conducting career.

CONDUCTOR AND CONCERT MASTER
Born in Russia in 1988. Albert Skuratov began his musical studies at age 5 in
children’s music school and continued at the Special Music School in Kana.
He moved to Madrid and was accepted at the age of 15 as a student of Zakhar
Bron at the Escuela Superior de Musica Reina Sofia and received the Albeniz
Foundation Scholarship. Albert currently is the Concertmaster of Zakhar Bron
Chamber Orchestra and Principal Guest Conductor of Joven Orquesta
Provincial de Malaga. As a conductor he studied with his father Rashid Skuratov
and Gilbert Varga and he made his conducting debut with Sony Chamber
Orchestra in 2011 conducting Mozart Sinfonia-Concertante and Tchaikovsky
Serenade. He also performed with «Festival Fortea» Orchestra in Castellon and
Chamber Orchestra «Eduardo Ocon» in Malaga.
His Symphonic debut took place in Madrid in July of 2013 where Albert has
worked with Orquesta Clasica Santa Cecilia performing Mozart «Le Nozze di Figaro», Haydn Trumpet Concerto with Christian Ibanez and Beethoven «Eroica» Symphony. In september of the same year Albert has conducted
Amadeus International School’s orchestra in Lichtenstein Palace in Vienna.
As a guest conductor of Joven Orquesta Provincial de Malaga (Youth Orchestra
of Malaga) Albert made his debut in March of 2014 in Malaga with the works
of Mozart and Sibelius and in Nerja conducting Rossini’s «Stabat Mater» with
Coral Alminares and la JOPMA and in April of the same year he became New
Principal Guest Conductor of JOPMA. In the same month he made his debut
in Madrid with European Royal Orchestra in Madrid. Since 2013 Albert is a
Artistic Director of «Eduardo Ocon» International Music Course in Malaga
(Mollina). Lukas Foss at the Music Festival of the Hamptons, a relationship
which initiated his conducting career.

Vlada Berezhnaya has appeared as soloist with several orchestras including the
Belorussian National Symphony Orchestra, the Belorussian National Chamber
Orchestra and the Bergische Symphoniker. She had solo concerts in Russia,
Belarus, Germany, Sweden and France. In 2007 Vlada Berazhnaya won the 1st prize at the International Oginski Competition for Chamber Orchestra Ensemble in Belarus and was an awardee at the International Dvarionas Competition. Amongst other prizes, she has been awarded Gold Medal in «Delphic Games». She did a Bachelor degree at de Music Academy of Minsk
and at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Köln.
Yejin Byun began to play violin at the age of nine. She studied in Central Music
School of Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory. In June 2011, she graduated
with top honors from the Moscow Tchaikovsky State Conservatory. Since September 2011, Yejin is currently studying at the Hochschule for Musik
Basel. She performed with orchestras such as the Yaroslavl Philharmonic Orchestra, Russian Chamber Orchestra, Habarovsk Symphony Orchestra and
the Kislovodsk Philharmonic Orchestra Since 2004 Yejin has received Scholarship by Vladimir Spivakov Foundation. She is a prize winner from several competitions like the CBS Violin Competition in 2001, the 2nd prize at the Yampolsky International Competition as well as the 2nd prize at the M. Mizuki Chiba began studying the violin at the age of three. He has won the 1st Prize in junior section of the International Competition Novosibirsk in 2007,

Compulsory Piece in the International Violin Competition Sion Valais in 2011,

He has performed with orchestras at a lot of concerts, Camerata Zürich,
Conservatoire Novosibirsk Orchestra, Camerata Salzburg at St. Moritz Music
Festival opening gala concert, Zürcher Kammerorchester, Philharmonie der
Nationen at the opening gala concert of «Festival der Nationen», Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra. Now he is taking Soloist Diploma course on an honour student at Toho Gakuen College Music Department.
Soo Jin Hannah Cho has been performing with La Jolla Symphony, the Richardson Symphony Orchestra, the Aspen Philharmonic and the Riverside Symphony. In 2013 she won the Aspen Music Festival Beethoven Violin Concerto Competition and 2012 2nd at the Young Arts Program and also 2nd at the Aspen Music Festival Delay Fellowship Competition in 2011. Maxime Gulikers started playing the violin when he was 7 years old and at the
age of 12, he was admitted to the Royal Conservatory of The Hague. He followed
masterclasses with various renowned pedagogues and attended violin and
chamber music courses in Germany (Goch), The Netherlands (Orlando Festival)
and Switzerland (Astona Summer Academy).
Maxime Gulikers was concertmaster of different orchestras, such as the Atheneum Chamber Orchestra and the orchestra of the International Summer
Academy in Astona. As a soloist, he played several times with orchestra. He won numerous prizes like the first prize at «Prinses Christina Concours» in
Rotterdam, second prize at the national violin competition «Iorden Viooldagen»
in The Hague or the first prize at the first national Britten violin competition.
Mone Hattori was born in 1999 in Tokyo into a musical family. She took her first
violin lessons at the age of five.
She gave her solo debut when she was 8 years old playing the violin concert by Camille Saint-Saëns. Ever since then, Mone Hattori has played many recitals and appeared on stage at various occasions as a soloist with different
orchestras. The audience and press are praising her abilities to play. She’s the prize winner of several international competitions, such as the Grand
Prix at International Competition Novosibirsk 2013.

Ryan began studying violin at the age 5. He has studied and taken master classes with numerous acclaimed violinists and pedagogies. Currently, Ryan
studies at the Victoria Conservatory of Music in Canada and is also participating
in the violin program at the International Piano Academy in Imola. Ryan Howland is achieving acclaim from Canada for his exquisite techniques,
expressiveness and rich musicality. He made his public debut at the age of 12
with a performance with the Sydney Classical Orchestra under the direction of
Stephen Brown. Some of his awards include 1st prize at the Victoria performing
arts festival 2014 and 1st prize at the Provincial Performing Arts Festival 2014 in BC, Canada.
Violinist Kana is undergoing her third year at RNCM. As a soloist, many of her musical successes have been in her home country, Australia, including first
prize in the National Concerto Competition (2005), the under 25’s concerto section at the Dandenong Festival (2005), the Preston Symphony Concerto
Competition (2006) and the Queenstown Violin Summer School Competition
(2010). She became a member of the Australian National Academy of Music in
2005 and in the following year she gave her debut recital. As a recitalist, Kana has been invited to play at various festivals including the Melba Festival.
Kana has been a member of the Australian Youth Orchestra and is currently a
casual member of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. She has won the RNCM Norman George Violin Scholarship and the 2013 Concerto Competition.

Since Alexander was seven years old he was in the violin class in the city of
Khabarovsk. May 2006, Alexander studied at the ZHdK Zürcher Hochschule der
Künste. He won many international competitions including 3nd prize at the international violin competition in Valsesia and the 1st prize at the same competition the following year. 2002 he won the 1st prize at the international violin competition «Geige des Nordens» in Jakutsk and 2004 2nd prize at the international violin competition in Nowosibirsk. Alexander Kuznetsov plays
concerts with symphony orchestras and chamber music-recitals in countries
such as Russia, Japan, France, Switzerland, Germany.
Joanna Jiyun Lee is a violinist with a formidable musical background. Ms. Lee
attended the Hochschule für Musik in Basel, Switzerland where she completed
her undergraduate and graduate studies and is currently pursuing her Doctoral
degree at the University of Southern California as a full scholarship student
since 2012. In addition to participating in numerous prestigious festivals across
the world, she has also performed in chamber music tours in Korea and Japan.
Ms. Lee was a prize winner at numerous competitions and a recipient of various scholarships.

Furong Li, who was born in China in 1990, began playing the violin at the age of five with her father. In 2009 she graduated from the middle school attached
to the Central Conservatory of Music. She subsequently studied at the Central
Conservatory of Music, where she graduated in 2013. In 2013 she was admitted
to Escuela Superior de Musica Reina Sofia in Spain where she is currently studying.
Sean Yongjoo Lim’s first solo debut performance with orchestra was with the
Kostrama Symphony Orchestra at age 12. Sean has already received numerous
awards and recognitions from national and international competitions.
Recently, Sean was awarded first prize in the Army Orchestra Young Artist
Competition, the James C. Macdonald Fine Arts Competition and the FMMC
High School Competition for Strings in memory of Gustave N. Johansen, Jr.
as well as being named as an honorable winner of 2015 National Young Arts
Foundation. Sean attended the Meadowmount School of Music. Lim has the
distinction of being a National Philharmonic Orchestra Youth Fellow since
2013 and also was appointed Co-Concertmaster of the Maryland Classic Youth
Orchestra Philharmonic for 2014 – 2015.

Sofija Nikoska performed with the Macedonian Philharmony and Jeunesses Musicales Macedonia and participated in the «Young Euro Classics Orchestra» tour in Berlin, Zajacar,
Skopje and Prishtina. She also was part of the EMCY tour «Stars of Tomorrow»
in 2011. In 2010 Sofija Nikoska graduated with the highest grade «Cum Laude»
in the Faculty of Music in the University «Kiril i Metodij» in Skopje, Macedonia,
where in 2013 she finished her master-studies. From 2011 she is a student at
the Escuela Superior de Musica Reina Sofia in Madrid.
Ami Oike won the 2nd prize at the Carl Flesch International Violin Competition in Hungary, the 1st prize at the RNCM Manchester International Violin Competition and 1st prize and listener’s prize at the Japan Annual Music Competition in Japan.
She performed with the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra twice in 2014 and 2013.

Canadian violinist Alexander Read has quickly become a sought-after performer on the international stage. Mr. Read’s recitals and concerto performances have been broadcasted on CBC Radio/Radio-Canada, and he has presented concerts across North America, the UK, Europe, Asia and Australasia. An avid chamber musician, he has appeared at all major Canadian chamber music festivals, as well as the Verbier Festival and
the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival, among others. Mr Read was appointed
Principal Second Violin with the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal in April of 2013. Mr. Read is on the faculty of the Schulich School of Music at McGill University.
Siena Sanchez-O’Brien studied at the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC and has a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance. In her career she won the Golden Voices of America, Academic Scholarship,
Alumni Scholarship, Parish Scholarship, and graduated with honor. She has performed with the CUA Orchestra and is currently a member of the
Apollo Orchestra. Siena has performed at Carnegie Hall’s Weil Recital Hall, and as a soprano at the Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Lands in Washington,
DC. She was also a participant and performer at the Interharmony International
Music Festival.

Arsenis Selalmazidis was born in 1990 in Russia. At the age of five he received

Musik und Tanz Köln. Arsenis Selalmazidis is laureate of several international
competitions. The highlight of his music career is the 2nd prize at the inter-
national competition «Karol Lipinski and Henryk Wieniawski» in Poland and the 1st prize at the international violin competition in Novosibirsk.
Aleksey Semenenko has studied the violin ever since he was 6 years old. After only one year, he was the winner of the children’s music festival «Starlet».
The same year he also had his solo debut with the Odessa Philharmonic. Since 2007, Aleksey Semenenko has been studying at the University of Music in
Cologne. He has been a member and co-founder of the successful Stoljarski
Quartet. Aleksey Semenenko has received many international awards including
the grand prix at National Ukrainian competition and prize winner at the Young Concert Artist International Auditions in New York.

Winner of the 3th International Glazunow Competition in Paris, 1st prize winner
of the E. Mravinsky International Competition and 2nd as well as 1st of the 29th International Competition «Premio Rodolfo Lipizer» in Italy. He took part at many Mater Classes and studied at the Special music college of St. Petersburg conservatory. In 2010 he started studying at the Haute Ecole
Musique de Lausanne. Dmitry Serebrennikov graduated with a Master Diploma
in Performance at the Bern University of Arts and is currently doing a Master Performance Specialized at the same University.
Stefan Tarara was born in Heidelberg into a musical family and has performed
publicly at the age of 4 years. Because of his successes in international competitions he was mentioned in 2008 and 2010 as Musician of the Year by the «New music newspaper». He won 26 times 1st prizes in national and international competitions, among them:
1st prize at the international violin competition «George Enescu» Competition
2014 and 1st prize at the international violin competition «R. Lipizer» 2011 in Italy. Currently he is the first concertmaster, both at the «Mannheimer Philharmoniker» and the «Hulencourt Soloist Chamber Orchestra» in Brussels.

Japanese Violinist was born in Tokushima and first started studying at the Toho Gakuen School of Music in Tokyo. She has so far won several prizes at international competitions, such as 3rd prize at Louis Spohr competition, 1st prize at New York SMF Concerto Competition and a special prize at Leopold
Mozart competition.
Shiori Terauchi is currently studying at Escuela Superior de Musica Reina Sofia in Madrid, Spain.
Japanese violinist, Takuya Yamamoto graduated from the Toho Gakuen School
of Music (BM) in Tokyo. Upon coming to the USA, Takuya received a full scholarship at the Lynn Conservatory of Music, Boca Raton. After graduation,
Takuya joined the Eugene Symphony as a first violin section member. He has performed as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestra member, in various music festivals. Currently, Takuya is a full scholarship student at Boise State University Idaho and working towards his Masters in String Quartet
where he plays first violin in the Hazia SQ. Currently, he plays first violin for the Boise Philharmonic.

Arata Yumi began to play the violin at the age of four. He studied at the Toho Gakuen Musik High School and in 2008 he entered the Department of Music of
Zürcher Hochschule der Künste (ZHdK). In June 2013 he finished his bachelor’s
degree and continues studying the master course at the ZHdK.
In April 2009 he got the 1st prize at the Guadagnini Competition in Tokyo.
He was a laureate with the youngest finalist prize at the 14 th international Henryk Wieniawski violin competition in Poznan. He has already appeared as
soloist on the stage of many important concert halls in Japan and Europe.
Xin Wen started to play the violin in 1999 start with her mother. Xin Wen studied at Hannover University in 2011/2012. She was invited to play at the International music festival in Suzhou in 2010 in China and participated the Masterclass with various Professors of Great Wall international music academy.
Xin Wen won the first price of young violinists in China in 2004 (Shandong), in 2006 she won the first price of Pu Gong Ying cup violin competition in China
(Beijing) and in 2010 the second price at the strings quartet of chamber music competition in the Great Wall international academy.
