Funktionsbeschreibung
Functional description
Der SPATZ DEEMBEDD-7 ist ein 7-fach Automatikumschalter mit integriertem AudioDeembedder. Zusätzlich haben wir ein umfangreiches EDID Management
implementiert.
Eingang 1 ist als Dual Cat5 ausgeführt, um mit anderen Geräten
aus der Dual Cat5 Serie als Empfänger benutzt werden zu können. Die Reichweite
dieses Eingangs ist auf ca. 15m/1080p mit CAT5e limitiert und nur für kurze
Kabellängen ausgelegt. Ein 2XCAT5IR-TX kann vom DEEMBEDD-7 mit Strom
versorgt werden.
Der DEEMBEDD-7 kann mit Hilfe des DIP- Schalters als Automatikumschalter
konfiguriert werden. Für die manuelle Umschaltung verfügt das Gerät über einen
Taster, der zyklisch die Eingänge weiterschaltet. Alternativ kann man Eingänge mit
potentialfreien Kontakten, mit RS-232 Befehlen oder mit der SPATZ IR Remote und
einer abgesetzten IR-RX Diode aus unserem Programm umschalten. Damit lässt sich
das Gerät auch versteckt einbauen und über IR bedienen.
Der analoge Audioausgang ist entweder variabelm oder mit max. Pegel per DIPSwitch konfigurierbar. Die Audiolautstärke lässt sich mit potentialfreien Kontakten, der
IR-Remote oder RS-232 verändern.
Das Gerät gibt das Audiosignal auch aus wenn kein Display angeschlossen ist. Der
SPDIF Ausgang kann Dolby 5.1/2 oder 2-Kanal PCM ausgeben, das 7.1 Format wird
von dieser Audioschnittstelle nicht unterstützt.
Das eingebaute EDID Management ermöglicht 4 verschiedene Konfiguriationen. Es
gibt ein durch uns vorprogrammiertes EDID bis 1920 x 1200/2 CH audio (Internal),
einen Speicher um das Display am Ausgang einzulernen, ein 3D EDID und ein reines
DVI EDID für MAC Books, wenn sie mit nicht HDCP fähigen Displays eingesetzt
werden sollen.
Um das am Ausgang angeschlossene Display in den Learned Speicher zu lernen,
bitte sicherstellen, dass das Display angeschlossen ist, Nun die Taste LEARN für 3s
festhalten, alle LEDs leuchten kurz auf wenn die Operation erfolgreich
abgeschlossen wurde. Das gelernte EDID ist nun das standard EDID für alle
Eingänge, wenn der DIP Schalter auf Learned umgestellt wurde. Der DEEMBEDD-7
ist wie andere SPATZ Geräte mit einem passiven EDID je Kanal ausgestattet, das
auch ohne Stromversorgung oder aktiverSchaltung an allen Eingängen ein EDID
übermittelt. Dies ist für PC-Betrieb wichtig, da der Anwender sonst darauf achten
muss, dass der Umschalter vor dem Bootvorgang des PCs auf diesen Eingang
umgestellt wurde.
Die Einstellungen des DIP-Schalter werden von RS-232 Befehlen überschrieben,
nach einem Stromausfall sind wieder die DIP-Einstellungen aktiv !
Die Inhalte der 4 EDID Speicher im Auslieferungszustand oder nach einem RESET
können Sie auf der Internetseite herunterladen.
SPATZ DEEMBEDD-7 is 7 input switcher with audio deembedding. In addition there
is an extensive EDID Management for professional or domestic use.
Input1 of the switcher will accept signals of any Dual Cat5 product that SPATZ is
offering, however the distance is limited to a typical maximum of 15m/50ft@1080p
with Cat5e cable. The unit will power a 2XCAT5IR-TX transmitter.
There is DIP Switch array to configure the unit for automatic switching or manual
control. In manual mode you may switch through inputs using the Input Select button,
the 7 open contacts or use RS-232 commands. The connector that is labelled IR will
work with our IR-RX receiver diode, so the unit may be as well operated by the
standard SPATZ remote.
The analog audio output can be set to be a variable level or fixed max. level.
Volume control is possbile through open contacts, IR or RS-232.
The SPDIF output of the DEEMBEDD-7 can only output Dolby 5.1/2 or 2-channel
PCM. The higher res 7.1 formats are not supported by this interface.
The unit will deembedd audio from HDMI if there is no display connected !
We have implemented 4 different modes for EDID Management. The internal EDID is
preprogrammed for up to 1920 x 1200/2 ch audio, the Learned is user programmable,
the 3D EDID will force 3D capable source to output 3D signals and the DVI EDID is
for our special machines from Apple that have a new feature in the MAC Books, that
will only allow video to be outputted to non HDCP sinks if there is a true DVI EDID
recognized.
Learning EDID from a display is simple as connecting the desired display to the
output and then keep the LEARN button pressed for 3s until all LEDs are flashing –
Done.
If you configure the DIP Swich for LEARNED you may now use this learned EDID for
all inputs and present it to the sources. Like other SPATZ products we go for passive
EDIDs for each inputs, that will make any PC happy as there is an EDID for him no
matter if the DEEMBEDD-7 is powered or currently switched to another source.
Consumer grade switches will require to activate first the input the PC is connected to
before booting it. If not most PC will not activate their output.
DIP Switch settings will be overruled by RS-232, after a power failure the unit will fall
back to the DIP settings.
