Press release The new freedom of movement.
Press release March 20, 2014 The new freedom of movement. Experiencing a new awareness of life with the cross-country electric wheelchair Freee F2. New is not only the electric wheelchair Freee F2, but the awareness of life and driving experience it gives to its drivers. Be it sandy beaches, cobblestones, woods and meadows, or steep declivity: There almost isn’t any terrain the cross-country F2 could not cope with, thanks to its two strong, autonomously driven electric motors. Even challenging mountain routes are no longer obstacles. Thus, it lets paraplegic and mobility impaired persons experience a mobility not known to this day. The F2 combines modern electric mobility with high-quality design, and meets highest demands concerning handling, comfort, safety and service. Behind the F2 are the company Freee Mobility – and the vision of founder Andreas Fried and his brother Thomas, who is paraplegic since the age of 33. They wanted to develop an intuitive-to-use electric wheelchair that enables physically incapacitated persons to participate in life actively again – with full mobility. Thomas Fried is enthusiastic about his new freedom of movement, wishing everyone could discover this new quality of life by himself. Thus, the innovative electric wheelchair is not just a product, but an affair of the heart. The F2 is a self-balancing vehicle with electronic control. It features an easy, dynamic handling. Sitting up or changing, the vehicle is secured by an integrated support device. It is started via the info key. The dynamic stabilization technology with its five gyroscopes is measuring terrain and body position 100 times per second, and is permanently balancing wheelchair and body steadily. An inclination forward is turned to a forward movement, an inclination backward brakes, respectively leads to a backward movement. The F2’s driving direction is controlled by the handlebar being moved to the left, or to the right. The handlebar offers ergonomic handles, is adjustable and easy to remove. By the dynamic, motion controlled handling, the whole torso’s motor skills are supported. The backrest is adjustable and folding-down. The also folding-down armrests facilitate the transfer from active wheelchair to F2 and vice versa. The F2 has a range of up to 38 km, at a speed of ca. 20 km/h. The lithium-ions-based battery takes ca. 8 hours charging time from empty state. It can be charged at every electric outlet. Thanks to consequent energy recovery, the F2’s consumption is surprisingly low.
