ahab, whose name in Arab means gold, is a small village, set apart by the destinations more
frequented in the region. The village is situated 95 kms north-east of Sharm el Sheikh, in a splendid
geographical position, around an ample natural oasis. Its horizon lies between the warm reflexes of
the dunes and the shining colors of the sea. Dahab is known above all for the famous diving spots
in its proximities: Canyon, Blue Hole, Ras Abu Qalum, Lilhlaba, and for the characteristic atmosphere of the Assalah, the Bedouin camp to the heart of the village. The natural reserves of Ra’as
Muhammed, Tiran and Sanafir Islands, St. Catherine, Nabaq, Abu Qalum offer a variety of exciting
excursions and safaris.
DAHAB, il cui nome in arabo significa dorato, è un piccolo villaggio circa 95 km a nord di Sharm el Sheikh. In splendida collocazione geografica, il villaggio, sorto attorno ad un’ampia oasi naturale, ha il suo orizzonte disteso tra i riflessi
d’oro delle dune, gli antichi massicci granitici, il profilo del cielo e i colori splendenti della barriera corallina. Dahab è
nota soprattutto per gli importanti punti di immersione presenti nelle vicinanze: Lighthouse, Canyon, Blue Hole, Ras

Der Name DAHAB bedeutet aus dem Arabischen übersetzt Gold. Das kleine Dorf liegt etwa 95 km nördlich von
Sharm el-Sheik und befindet sich in einer prächtigen geographischen Lage. Dahab ist um eine weitläufige Oase gebaut
und der Horizont liegt zwischen den warmen Lichtreflexionen der Dünen und den schillernden Farben des Meeres.
Dahab ist vor allem für seine Tauchplätze bekannt, wie Canyon,Blue Hole, Ras Abou Galoum oder Lilhlaba, aber
auch die typische Atmosphäre im Beduinen Dorf El Assala ist vielen ein Begriff und einen Besuch wert. Ausflüge und
Safaris in die Naturschutzgebiete von Ras Mohammed, Tiran und Sanafir Inseln, St. Katherine, Nabq und Ras Abou
Galum bieten ein abwechslungsreiches und aufregendes Programm.
inai Peninsula Dominated by the soft colored granite formations of the precambrian age, the
Sinai peninsula penetrates into the northern part of the Red Sea, between the Gulf of Aqaba and
the Suez Gulf. Mount Sinai is a preeminent holy place for the three monotheist religions; it is
here, in the holy land, that the Moses of the Jewish, Christian and Moslem faiths received the
ten Commandments from the Lord. At it’s foothill Emperor Justinian founded, in 530 A. D., the
monastery of St. Catherine.
LA PENISOLA DEL SINAI è dominata dagli affascinanti massicci granitici precambriani, dove ancora si nascondono le
miniere di turchese degli antichi egizi. Si insinua nel Mar Rosso settentrionale, tra il Golfo di Aqaba ad est e il Golfo
di Suez ad ovest. Il Monte Sinai e il monastero di Santa Caterina rappresentano una delle mete più note e di maggior
richiamo dei turismo religioso. Il monastero, tra i più antichi al mondo, fu fondato nel VI secolo da Giustiniano nel
luogo dove secondo la tradizione gli angeli deposero il corpo della Santa, dopo il martirio. Ricco di opere d’arte, la
biblioteca conserva la seconda collezione al mondo di manoscritti religiosi.

DIE HALBINSEL SINAI befindet sich im nördlichen Teil des roten Meeres, und wird von Golf van Aqaba und dem
Golf von Suez umrandet. Die Halbinsel besteht größtenteils aus leicht gefärbten Granitformationen, die aus dem
Precambrian Zeitalter stammen. Eine Attraktion der Halbinsel, und Pilgerort für viele Gläubige auf der ganzen
Welt , ist der Berg Sinai. Diesem Berg kommt in allen drei großen monotheistischen Glaubensrichtungen eine große
Bedeutung zu. Auf diesem Heiligen Land war es, daß Moses die zehn Gebote überreicht bekam. Moses ist sowohl bei
den Christen als auch bei den Juden und den Moslims ein Heiliger. Am Fuß des Berges befindet sich ein, im Jahre 530
vor Christus, von Kaiser Justinian, gegründetes Kloster mit einer prachtvollen Bibliothek.
