Vermont – master of almost
everlasting ßoral art
Flowers are short-lived and give pleasure for a few days
only. But there is a way to preserve the beauty of the
plants. For some months now lovers of accessories and
lifestyle goods in Germany have had the opportunity
to purchase long lasting floral pieces of art at the first
Vermont showroom on Berlin’s Kantstrasse.
Enchanting sculptures of foliage, magnificent bouquets or delicate rose buds … since 1981 the Franco-Belgian Vermont company has been making luxury floral decorations. Since April
2010 these compositions have also been available in Germany.
The pieces are both innovative and beautiful. That is why Vermont works with well known floral designers such as Christian
Tortu and Jos Van Dyck, who create new collections twice a year.
“The room and table decorations are handmade from flowers,
moss, foliage and fruits, and combined with materials such
as terracotta, wood or metal to create classical, ultramodern
and exotic compositions,” Zakhar Melnychenko, Managing
Director of Vermont Berlin, explains with enthusiasm.

her. Seit April 2010 gibt es diese Kompositionen auch in Deutschland zu kaufen. Innovativ und wunderschön sollen
die Einzelstücke sein. Daher hat Vermont
auch international bekannte florale Designer, wie zum Beispiel Christian Tortu
und Jos Van Dyck engagiert, die zweimal
jährlich eine neue Kollektion entwerfen.

Kenia-Rose. Die Herstellung der Kostbarkeiten geschieht mit einem patentierten Verfahren, bei dem die Blumen zunächst schonend getrocknet
und anschließend mit Ölen konserviert
werden. „Vermont legt einen großen
Wert auf eine umweltfreundliche Stabilisierung und verwendet nur natürliche Produkte. „Ökologische Fertigung
heißt bei uns jedoch nicht, dass wir auf
Schönheit verzichten“, betont Melnychenko, „Im Gegenteil dadurch wird
die Farbenpracht erst ermöglicht“. Die
exklusiven Blumen, die erst schonend
getrocknet und dann mit Öl präpariert
werden, halten zwischen vier und sieben Jahre. Daher sind es auch ganz
besondere Präsente für Freunde und
Geschäftspartner. „Mit Geschenken
verbindet man stets einen ganz besonderen Glücksmoment. Diese schönen
Gefühle bleiben mit Vermont viele Jahre erhalten“, so Melnychenko.
Das Unternehmen möchte 2011 noch
weiter wachsen. Ein ganz besonderer
Service besteht mit der Vermietung
floraler Kreationen und dem Abonnementangebot. Der Kunde erhält speziell für den Anlass oder die jeweilige
Jahreszeit zusammengestellte Arrangements. Und noch eine weitere Besonderheit gibt es: Die Rosenfarben kann
man sich ganz individuell wählen. Von
klassischem Pink und Weiß bis hin zum
knalligen Türkis und Gold – die Bouquets überzeugen mit kräftigen Farben
und ganz speziellen Formen, angefertigt nach den Entwürfen der Designer.
So sind die Vermont-Kompositionen oft
vor allem eines: unvergängliche Wunderwerke geschaffen von erfahrenen

finest roses, the
Kenya Rose, is used
for production. The
Vermont
process
used to manufacture the precious objects is patented. The
flowers are initially dried gently and then preserved with oils.
“Vermont sets value on a stabilization process that is friendly
to the environment and uses natural products only. Ecological
production does not require the sacrifice of beauty, however,”
emphasizes Melnychenko, “…quite the opposite, it brings out
the colour in all its splendour.” The selected flowers, having
been carefully dried and then treated with oils, last for four to
seven years. So, they are ideally suited as presents for friends
and business partners. “Gifts are always related to very particular moments of happiness, and Vermont can maintain
such feelings over many years,” claims Melnychenko.
The company wants to expand in 2011. As a very special service
they offer floral arrangements for hire and on subscription. The
customer gets arrangements specifically tailored to the occasion
or season. And there is another specialty of the house: rose
colours can be selected from classic pink and white through to
loud turquoise and gold; the bouquets captivate by their intense
colours and individual shapes devised by the designers. So, the
Vermont compositions are first and foremost one thing: they are

Sie ist die Königin der Blumen und seit über 2000
Jahren ist sie das „Symbol der Liebe“: Im indischen
Tantra symbolisierte sie das Herz, in der griechischen Antike wird Aphrodite mit einem weißen Rosenstrauß geboren und im Mittelalter galt sie als Aphrodisiakum. Zum Valentinstag empfiehlt Vermont ein
Rosenherz für die Ewigkeit.

„symbol of love“. In the Indian Tantra it symbolizes
the heart, in ancient Greece Aphrodite was born with
a white bunch of roses, and in medieval times it was
believed to be an aphrodisiac. For Valentine’s Day Vermont recommends a heart of roses for eternity.
