Bericht des Präsidenten
Gemessen am Wetter, ist es schwer zu glauben, dass dies der Bericht
für den Monat Dezember ist.
Der Herbst war sehr warm und sonnig. Kann der Winter auch so gut
werden? Wollen wir es hoffen.
Im November wurden die Wahlen in unserem Klub abgehalten
und ich freue mich zu berichten, dass wir wieder den Vorstand voll
besetzt haben. Ich möchte mich bei allen, die in Ihrer
Position für weitere 2 Jahre verbleiben, bedanken und
begrüße unser neues Mitglied Tina McQuabbie. Wir
danken dem Wahlausschuss für die geleistete Arbeit.
Am 7. November waren Betty und ich eingeladen und
nahmen teil am 80. Jubiläum des Teutonia Klubs in
Windsor. Wir gratulieren unseren Freunden in Windsor zu diesem Meilenstein und ich danke Präsidentin
Christine Erdmann und ihren Mitarbeitern für die Einladung an Betty und mich. Wir wünschen ihnen viele
weiter Jubiläumsfeiern.
Am 14. November waren Betty und ich eingeladen
und nahmen teil an der Karneval-Opening im Concordia Klub. Das war ein mit Spaß gefüllter Abend hervorgehoben durch die Krönung von Sepi und Monika
Hoedle als neuer Prinz und Prinzessin für den Concordia Karnevalsverein. Herzlichen Glückwunsch an den
Prinzen und die Prinzessin und ein ganz besonderes
Dankeschön für die Einladung.
Am 15. November feierten wir Volkstrauertag im
Woodland Cemetery. Es war ein schöner, sonniger
und warmer Nachmittag, mit großer Beteiligung and
der bewegenden Feier. Kaffee und Kuchen wurden
später im Alpine Klub serviert. Wir danken Herrn
Gerhard Griebenow und Frau Helene Schramek und
allen freiwilligen Helfern für ihren Einsatz bei der
Koordinierung dieser Veranstaltung.
Am 19. November wurden die „Hansie Awards“
von „Oktoberfest Inc.“ im Alpine Klub präsentiert.
Im Namen unseres Schwaben Klubs freute ich mich
den Preis für „Best Family Day“ zu akzeptieren.
Vielen Dank an alle, die dazu beigetragen haben. Die
„Golden Keys“ erhielten den„Best Large Band“
Preis und wir gratulieren ihnen für diese Ehre und ich
bin sehr stolz und privilegiert, dass sie in unserem
Klub während des Oktoberfestes und bei den meisten
anderen Veranstaltungen spielen.
Glückwünsche gehen auch an unsere eigene Frauengruppe, die ihr 80. Jubiläum am 21. November feierten.
Achtzig Jahre sind in der Tat ein Meilenstein und eine
beachtliche Leistung. Wir wünschen euch viele weitere
Jubiläumsfeiern und alles Gute für die Zukunft. Vielen
Dank für die Einladung an Betty und mich.
Wie Sie sehen können, der November war ein voller
und schöner Monat.
Zum Abschluss, der Vorstand des Schwaben Klubs,
meine Frau Betty und ich wünschen allen unseren Mitgliedern und Freunden ein recht frohes Weihnachtsfest
und ein glückliches und gesundes neues Jahr.
President’s Report
Judging by the weather, it is hard to believe that this
is a December month report. The fall has been very

warm and sunny. Can winter be as favourable? We
can only hope.
November was election month for our club and we
are happy to report that we have again a full slate of
board of directors. I would like to thank everyone that
is staying on in his or her position for another 2 years
and welcome our new member Tina McQuabbie. We
thank the election committee for a job well done.
On November 7, Betty and I were invited and attended the 80th Anniversary celebration of the Teutonia Club in Windsor. We congratulate our friends in
Windsor on this milestone event and I thank President
Christine Erdmann and her staff for the invitation for
Betty and myself.
We wish them many more anniversaries.
On November 14, Betty and I were invited and attended the Mardi Gras Opening at the Concordia
Club. This was a fun filled evening highlighted by
the crowning of Sepi and Monika Hoedle as the new
Prince and Princess for Concordia Mardi Gras. Congratulations to the Prince and Princess and a very
special thank you for the invitation.
On November 15, we celebrated Volkstrauertag at
Woodland Cemetery. A beautiful sunny, warm afternoon and a large turn out was treated to a very moving
and solemn celebration. Coffee and cake was later
enjoyed at the Alpine Club. We thank Mr. Gerhard
Griebenow and Mrs. Helene Schramek and all the Volunteer helpers for their efforts in coordinating this event.
On November 19, The “Hansie Awards” were presented by “Oktoberfest Inc.” at the Alpine Club. On
behalf of our Schwaben Club, I was happy to accept
the award for “Best Family Day” celebration. Thank
you to all of you who contributed. The “Golden
Keys” claimed the “Best Large Band” prize and we
congratulate them for this honour and I am very proud
and privileged to have them play at our club during
“Oktoberfest” and also at most of our club functions.
Congratulations also go to our very own Frauengruppe who celebrated their 80th Anniversary on
November 21. Eighty years is indeed a milestone and
a noteworthy achievement. Ladies we wish you many
more anniversaries and all the best in the future.Thank
you very much for the invitation to Betty and myself.
As you can see, November has been a very busy and
enjoyable month.
In closing the Board of Directors of the Schwaben
Club, my wife Betty and I would like to wish all our
members and friends a Merry Christmas and a Happy
and Healthy New Year.

WHAT’S GOING ON
Manager’s Report
As we enter the last month of the year and look forward to 2016, I hope everyone had a good year and
even a better one next year. We’ve had our usual ups
and downs this year and probably will again next year
too, but that’s what life is all about. In this troubled
world life is also all about doing our very best part to
make the world a bit better every day.
The Christmas Season is all about family, peace and
love. I wish each and every one of you the very best
joys of this most festive season. Reflect on this year,
and look ahead to 2016 with a positive and healthy
attitude and just watch how great things will happen in
your life.
I look forward to seeing you at the Schwaben Club at
many of the great events that are planned for 2016.
You are always welcome at the Schwaben Club, so
please come in and take in some good times or just to
say hello.

members meeting and at the Club office.

Student >>> $25
Seniors >>> $40
Single >>> $50
Family >>> $80
NOTE: CORRECTION to
the Seniors Rate in the membership rates above. The Seniors rate is set for $40.
Signed 2016 membership cards will be ready for Dues
Paid staring at December’s members meeting and then
at the Club office during the day.
Sick Benefit members who are not exempt, the annual
$12 fee is due for 2016.
Death Benefit members - there is $1 due in 2016 for 1
member who passed away in 2015.
Bring your Sick and Death benefit booklets when paying for your dues so we can update them for you.
I will be set up to accept membership dues and sick/death
benefit payments at December’s members meeting.
Our club still has the lowest club membership rates
among all local German clubs. Encourage your

Kinder/Jugendgruppe
Thank you to the families who contributed baking,
crafts, and most importantly, their time, to our table
at the Christmas Bazaar. We really appreciated your
efforts to support our children’s dance groups. It was a
great way to jump-start the holiday spirit!
Congratulations to our Frauengruppe on your 80thanniversary. Frauengrundungsfest was a lovely celebration to honour the contributions of the women dedicated to our Schwaben Club family.
The children delighted the audience, and had everyone
singing and clapping along as they performed. This
was the first event that some of our dancers performed
in their new groups. Congratulations to Adam, Elizabeth, Grace, Gwen, Hannah and Sydney on graduating to the Jugendgruppe. You all danced so well,
and should be proud! We also welcome Daeynn, our
newest member of the Kindergruppe. Even though our
groups are always growing and changing, the children
always adapt so well and dance beautifully together.
In addition to our dance groups, there has been some
interest in forming a children’s choir. If this is something you think that your child may be interested in,
please contact me at [email protected]
Of course we are always looking for more dancers too!
