Hi Ben!
Ben:
Hi Linda! Where are you going?
Linda:
To my granny’s birthday.
Ben:
But your face is dirty.
Linda:
Oh gosh!
Ben:
April fool!
Linda enters, present in her hand

Ben laughs loudly, Linda shakes her head and walks off, Ben looks at his watch again, blows a bubble, plays with the ball
Sarah:
Hi Ben!
Ben:
Hi Sarah! Where are you going?
Sarah:
To my violin lesson.
It starts at three.
Ben:
But it’s almost four.
Ben looks at his watch, grins
Sarah:
Oh no. I’m late.

Ben:
April fool!
Paul:
enters slowly from the back, looks at Ben, grins
Ben:
Well finally! You are late!
Paul:
But Ben, there’s a huge hole in
your trousers!
Ben:
I know, I know ! April fool !
Come on, let’s go and play.
Ben laughs; Paul and Ben leave,
the spectators see the big hole
in Ben’s trousers
