Grobkristalliner Marmor. Dargestellt ist der kleinasiatische Gott des Weins, der Vegetation und des Ackerbaus.
Er gilt als Gott der orphischen Mysterien. Im Haar trägt er einen Kranz aus Blättern.

wreath in his wavy hair.

7 Kopf der Faustina der Jüngeren
Römisch, Mitte 2. Jh. n. Chr., H 20 cm
Marmor. Der Kopf der Faustina ist auf einer Büste des 19. Jahrhunderts aufgesetzt. Die Nasenspitze ist ergänzt.
Sie trägt das Haar wellenartig zum Hinterkopf geführt und im Nacken zusammengebunden. Im Haar ein Diadem.
Text auf der Rückseite der Büste: Tête trouvée à Bavay 1807....

Marble. Head of Faustina mounted on a 19th century bust, tip of the nose restored. Her wavy hair tied back to a
knot at the nape of her neck. She wears a diadem.
Label on the backside of the bust: Tête trouvée à Bavay 1807....

8 Kopf des Dionysos
Römisch, Ende 1. Jh. n. Chr., H 17 cm
Weißer Marmor. Kopf einer leicht unterlebensgroßen Statue des jugendlichen Gottes Dionysos. Dargestellt ist er mit
seinen typischen Attributen: ein Kranz aus Weinblättern im langen lockigem Haar, das im Nacken zu einem Knoten
gebundenen ist, sowie einem Stirnband (Mitra). Die Details der Haare sind durch Bohrungen angegeben; dies weist
auf eine Entstehung Ende des 1. Jahrhunderts nach Christi hin.

Roman, late 1st century AD, H 17 cm
White marble. Head of a slightly smaller than life-sized statue of the youthful god Dionysus. He is represented with a
wreath of vine leaves on his head, with a fillet holding back his long, curly hair, which is fastened in a chignon in the
neck. The drilled details of the hair indicate that the time of origin is the late 1st century AD.

Bronze. Intakt. Weibliche Figur, in ein enganliegendes Gewand gehüllt. Das Gesicht mit archaischem Lächeln und mandelförmigen Augen und der Kopf sind sehr präzise ausgearbeitet.
Das Haar wird von einem breiten Haarband bedeckt, das nur die Kalotte und das in parallelen
Wellenlinien herabfallende Schläfenhaar offen lässt.

Umbrien, zweite Hälfte 5. Jh. v. Chr., H 21 cm
Bronze, sehr schöne, grün glänzende Patina. Linker Arm wieder angesetzt. Schreitender Krieger mit Helm mit hochgeklappten Wangenklappen. Reich verzierter Brustpanzer mit drei Reihen Pteryges und ebenfalls gepunzte Beinschienen.

Bronze. Left arm repaired. Striding warrior wearing a helmet with cheekpieces upturned, a cuirass with three rows of
skirt flaps (pteryges) and greaves. Helmet, cuirass and greaves with fine incised decoration.

28 Fortuna
Bronze. Kleines Loch am Rücken, sonst intakt und sehr schön erhalten. Augen, Diadem und Gürtel in Silber eingelegt, auf dem Dekolleté und auf den Haaren Reste von Vergoldung. Die Göttin ist in einen gegürteten Chiton
gehüllt. Sie steht auf ihrem linken Bein, das rechte ist leicht angewinkelt. Auf dem leicht nach rechts gewendeten
Kopf trägt sie ein Diadem. Ihre Haare fallen bis auf ihre Schultern. In der rechten Hand hielt sie wahrscheinlich
ein Ruder und im linken Arm ein Füllhorn. Eine Bronzestatuette von hervorragender Qualität.

Roman, 1st century AD, H 14.6 cm
Bronze. Silver inlay in the eyes, belt and diadem, gilding at her chest and hair. The goddess wearing a belted
chiton. Her head turned to the right, wearing a diadem. Her left arm holds a now missing cornucopia and the
right hand a rudder.

Spätkyprisch III, späte Bronzezeit, ca. 1200 – 1050 v. Chr., H 11,3 cm
Terrakotta. Frei, ohne Model, gearbeiteter Kopf einer Statuette mit großer Nase, roten
Wangen und Lippen. Am Haaransatz zwei Reihen separat gearbeiteter Locken. Reste eines
braunen Bandes, welches auf die Locken gemalt wurde und jeweils im Nacken endet. Selten.

Terracotta. Hollow head of a statuette with large nose, red cheeks and lips. Two rows of curly
hair worked separately. Details in brown paint for a band around the head down to the neck,
eyes and eye brows. Rare example modelled by hand without a mould.

kleinen Ergänzungen. Stark stilisierte bärtige Figur mit großen

Streifen und konzentrischen Kreisen verzierten Thron sitzend.
Auf dem Kopf trägt sie eine Stephane.

Hellbrauner Ton mit teilweise gut erhaltener Bemalung.
Der Kopf und rechte Arm geklebt, die runde Basis repariert
mit Ergänzungen.
Auf einer runden Basis eine Frau im langen Chiton, der
rechte Arm ist erhoben, in der linken Hand hält sie einen
Kelch.
41 Frau mit Fächer
Tanagra, 4. – 3. Jh. v. Chr., H 16 cm
Bräunlicher Ton, Reste von weißer Engobe und Polychromie.
Zusammengesetzt. Frau mit Himation, der ihre rechte Hand,
mit der sie einen großen Fächer hält, verdeckt. Unter dem
Mantel kommt an ihren Knien der Chiton zum Vorschein.
Fein gearbeitete typische Version der Frau mit Fächer aus
Tanagra.

lockigem Haar, darauf eine poloasartige Kopfbedeckung mit darüber fallendem Schleier.

Terrakotta mit guterhaltener Polychromie. Repariert. Fortuna in der rechten Hand ein Füllhorn und in der
linken ausgestreckten Hand eine Patera haltend. Auf dem Kopf ein Diadem aus Efeublättern und Blüten.

Terrakotta mit roter, blauer und schwarzer Polychromie;
Reste von Vergoldung. Zusammengesetzt; Flügel fehlen.
Bis auf eine Chlamys über seiner linken Schulter und Sandalen mit dicken Sohlen ist er unbekleidet. An den Sandalen
rote Polychromie. In seiner erhobenen rechten Hand hält
er eine Oinochoe und in seiner linken Hand eine Schale in
Form einer Muschel. Auf dem Haar trägt er einen dicken
Kranz aus Efeublättern und -früchten mit gut erhaltener
roter und blauer Polychromie sowie Vergoldung. Der Eros
hat sehr feine Gesichtszüge. Die Augen und Lippen sind in
Schwarz und Rot angegeben. An den Schultern Bohrlöcher
für die separat gearbeiteten Flügel.

trichterförmig. Zwei große, weit nach hinten gebogene Hörner, die an dem breiten profilierten Henkel auf dem Rücken
enden.

Ton. Abplatzungen repariert. Bügelkanne auf ringförmigem Fuß mit zwei Henkeln und einem senkrechten Ausguss. Der Dekor besteht aus schwarzbraunem Firnis auf ockerfarbenem Überzug. Die Schulter ist mit einer seltenen bildlichen Darstellung bestehend aus fünf fächerartigen Blüten geschmückt. Der Gefäßkörper ist mit feinen Linien zwischen breiten Bändern,
der Ausguss sowie die Henkel mit breiten Linien und der Knauf mit konzentrischen Kreisen verziert.

Ton, schwarzer Firnis, Deckweiß und Gelb. Zusammengesetzt, kleine Fehlstellen ergänzt.
Ungewöhnlich große Lekythos mit reichhaltiger Bemalung in zwei übereinander liegenden Bildszenen.
Auf dem Mündungstrichter Lorbeerzweige mit abwechselnd roten und weißen Blättern, gelben Früchten und Mittelrosette.
Henkel mit Lorbeerzweig, darunter ein großes Palmettenornament.
Im oberen Fries von links – stehende Frau mit geöffneter Kiste, darin ein Alabastron, hinter ihr ein Thron ohne Lehne, rechts
neben ihr eine sitzende Frau mit breitem Band und Fächer, dann folgt eine Frau mit Kalathos zu der sitzenden Aphrodite
gewendet. Aphrodite hält eine Iynx in den Händen, neben ihr eine Hydria, auf die ein nackter Eros seinen Fuß gesetzt hat
und sich ihr zuwendet, rechts davon eine Frau mit Tänie auf einem Hocker sitzend, sie wird von einem jungen Mann mit
Stock umarmt, rechts bringt eine Frau einen Hocker ins Bild. Unterer Fries von links - Frau mit Iynx und Rosettenkette im
Gespräch mit einer auf einer Truhe sitzenden Frau mit Phiale, in der Mitte auf einer Kline ruhender Jüngling mit langem
Haar, er lauscht einer Harfe spielenden Frau, die zu seinen Füßen sitzt, links Eros mit Alabastron, rechts der Kline eine Frau
mit Fächer, Ciste und Tänie, daneben streut Eros aus einer Schale Weihrauch auf ein Thymaterion, rechts am Bildrand eine
Frau mit geöffneter Ciste und Tamburin an ein großes Becken gelehnt. Die zweifache Darstellung der Iynx, ein magisches
Gerät für Liebeszauber, sowie von drei Eroten lässt auf die Darstellung einer Liebesszene schließen. Eine monumentale
Lekythos von außergewöhnlicher Qualität und Bedeutung.

Darstellung Seite A: Auf der Schulter: Nike mit Quadriga, neben den Pferden ein Hund, davor Eros.
Auf dem oberen Fries: Abschluss des Vertrags zwischen Oinomaos und Pelops vor dem Wettrennen, demzufolge der Freier
Hippodamia im Falle eines Sieges heiraten durfte. Im Falle einer Niederlage konnte ihm Oinomaos den Kopf abschlagen.
Durch Betrug stürzte Oinomaos im Rennen mit Pelops zu Tode.
Links geflügelte Erinys mit Schlangen um die Arme gewunden und Schlangen im Haar, rechts von ihr führt ein Mann einen
weißen Widder als Opfertier zum Altar, an dem Oinomaos und Pelops den Vertrag beeiden werden. Oinomaos mit Helm
stützt sich auf einen Speer, rechts über ihm hängt ein abgeschlagener Kopf eines Verlierers des Rennens. Neben Oinomaos
seine Tochter Hippodamia, die Pelops in orientalischer Tracht, ihre Hand reicht. Weiter rechts Nike und ein Gefolgsmann
des Pelops.
Auf dem unteren Fries: Stele, darauf eine Schale, links eine sitzende Frau mit geöffneter Ciste. Eros mit Kalathos, rechts ein
sitzender Jüngling mit Kranz und Schale und eine Frau mit Spiegel und Kranz, vor ihr ein Kalathos.
Darstellung Seite B: auf dem oberen Fries: Dionysische Szene.

152 Sichelschwert – Chepesch
Neues Reich, ramessidisch, 13. Jh. v. Chr., L 58,5 cm
Bronze, schöne Patina. Intakt. Griffeinlagen fehlen. Massives gebrauchsfähiges Sichelschwert. Lotosblütenornament am
Ende des Griffes. Das Sichelschwert, ägyptisch Chepesch, war ursprünglich eine vorderasiatische Waffe und gelangte kurz
vor dem Neuen Reich nach Ägypten. Es handelt sich eigentlich um eine Streitaxt, die wie eine Keule gebraucht wurde, nur
verfügt sie über eine Klinge und konnte damit dem Gegner tiefere Verletzungen zufügen. Bald wurde sie zum Siegeszeichen des Pharaos und damit zur rituellen Waffe, die in vielen Darstellungen des „Niederschlagens der Feinde“ Verwendung
fand. Eine identische Streitaxt wurde z.B. im Grab des Tutanchamun gefunden.

153 Sitzfigur eines hohen Beamten
Mittleres Reich, 13. Dynastie, ca. 1750 – 1700 v. Chr., H 27 cm
Grauwacke. Einmal gebrochen; Büste erhalten, rechte Schulter weggebrochen. Die vorliegende Büste einer Mantelstatue
ist von ausgezeichneter Qualität und zeigt einen auf einem Thron sitzenden Schreiber, dessen Körper durch einen langen
Mantel verhüllt ist. Lediglich die beiden Hände, der Halsbereich sowie der Kopf bleiben frei, die bildhauerische Behandlung lässt aber den Verlauf der Arme unter dem Mantel erahnen. Das Gesicht hat eine rundliche Form mit leicht fülligen
Wangen. Die Augen sind mandelförmig und die Augenbrauchen naturalistisch gestaltet, d.h. ohne aufgelegte Brauenbögen. Der Mund ist geschlossen und der Ausdruck wirkt dadurch energisch und streng. Das Gesicht wird von einer Perücke
eingerahmt.

Spätzeit, 26. – 30. Dynastie, H 5,9 cm
Silber. Intakt. Die Göttin sitzt auf einem in durchbrochener
Technik gearbeiteten Thron, welcher auf beiden Seiten den
schlangenartigen Schutzgott Nehebkau zeigt. In ihrer rechten Hand hält sie ein großes Naos-Sistrum.

156 Lion-headed goddess
Late Period, 26th – 30th Dynasty, H 5.9 cm
Silver. Intact. Amulet of a lion-headed goddess seated on
an openwork throne with the snake god Nehebkau on both
sides. The goddess wears a close fitting garment and a
tripartite wig. She holds a hoop-shaped sistrum in her right
hand, surmounted by a suspension loop.

Spätzeit, 25. Dynastie, H 8,8 cm
Peridotit. Intakt, Attribute fehlen. Gottesgemahlin mit dreigeteilter Perücke, die die Ohren freilässt. Die Arme liegen
eng an ihrem Körper an. Am Oberkopf und zwischen den
Armen je ein Bronzestift, mit denen die Attribute befestigt
wurden.

26. Dynastie – frühptolemäisch, H 3,5 cm
Grünlicher Serpentin. Intakt. Der in seinem kleinen Format
sehr fein gearbeitete Kopf trägt eine Lockenperücke, die
sich glatt an die Stirn und über die Ohren legt. Auf der
Gesichtsoberfläche sind Brauen und Augen herausgearbeitet, der Mund mit den vollen Lippen ist in den Wangen
eingebettet.

und Daumen fehlen. Statuette des Kindgottes Harpokrates mit dem typischen Gestus des an die Lippe gelegten
Zeigefingers der rechten Hand, der Jugendlocke an der
rechten Schläfe und der Nacktheit. Auf dem Kopf trägt er
die Doppelkrone mit Uräusschlange.

Ägyptische Spätzeit, 7. – 4. Jh. v. Chr., H 4,6 cm
Blaue Fayence. Kleine Fehlstellen an den Schultern. Isis
an der linken Seite fehlt, ebenso der Kopf der Nephthys
auf der rechten Seite. Der Patäke steht in seiner typischen
Haltung auf zwei antithetischen Krokodilen, deren Schwänze
sich um die ganze Skulptur winden. Auf dem Kopf trägt er
einen Skarabäus. Auf der Rückseite eine geflügelte Isis mit
Sonnenscheibe.
