In penetration tests in a new condition with a round steel foot (artificial cow foot) having a diameter of
105 mm (contact area 75 cm2, with
a 5 mm wide ring at the periphery
of the sole which projects 1 mm
over the rest of the surface (carrying edge of the claw)) and at a penetration force of 2000 N (corresponding to ca. 200 kg), penetration depth was 4.9 mm. This results
in a calculated bearing pressure of
26.7 N/cm2.

Elasticity was measured after the
cover had been exposed to a continuous tread load exerted by the
steel foot (250,000 alternating
loads of 5,000 N). After the continuous test, the penetration depth
of the steel foot decreased from
4.9 mm to 4.7 mm.

Continuous tread load
After the cover had been exposed
to a continuous tread load exerted
by a round steel foot (artificial cow
foot) having a diameter of 105 mm
(contact area 75 cm2 with a 5 mm
wide ring at the periphery of the
sole which projects 1 mm over the
rest of the surface (carrying edge
of the claw)) in test stand trials
(250,000 alternating loads of 5,000N,
corresponding to ca. 500 kg), the
floor cover showed only little wear.
Lasting deformation was not observed.
Evaluation:
– No lasting deformation
– Little surface wear

Resistance to abrasion
Slip resistance
In a standardized abrasion test, the
floor cover was rubbed with emery
cloth (grit size 280) at a pressure of
500 N (=8.13 N/cm2 area pressure).
The measurements were carried
out on the mobile footing test stand
of the DLG Test Station.
The measurements showed good
slip resistance on the dry and wet
cover.
A loaded plastic foot (10 kg) out of
polyamide (diameter 105 mm, contact area approximately 70 cm2
with a 3 mm wide ring at the
periphery of the sole which projects 1 mm over the rest of the surface) was drawn over the mat to be
tested at a speed of 20 mm/s.
The measured friction coefficients
(µ) were above the minimum value
of µ = 0.45.
After 10,000 double strokes, abrasion depth was ca. 2 mm. This corresponds to approximately 12% of
the cover height. Of the rubbed
surface (61.5 cm2), 7.4 g were
abraded.
Evaluation:
Abrasion depth and the quantity of
abraded material allow the conclusion to be drawn that the abrasion
resistance of the cover is good
+
The registered tractive forces were
correlated with the load weight,
and the friction coefficient was calculated based on these values.

Evaluation:
In slip tests on a dry and a wet
cover, slip resistance was good

Prüfung
Der DLG FokusTest umfasste technische Messungen auf Prüfständen
der DLG-Prüfstelle.
Es wurden die Abriebfestigkeit, die
Rutschfestigkeit, die Verformbarkeit
und Elastizität untersucht und eine
Dauertrittbelastung durchgeführt.
