Apache Tribe, Ski Apache offers a mix of
wide beginner slopes, tough bump runs
along with nice cruising runs. A terrain
park features jumps, tubes and rails. Ski
Apache is also home to New Mexico’s
only passenger gondola allowing for
panoramic views of the vistas and Sierra
Blanca Peak. Ski Apache also has the
most lift capacity of any resort in the
state, allowing 5,600 skiers and boarders

Down a side street, along the Rio Grande
Gorge, or above the mesa in a hot-air
balloon, you will encounter the unusal and

primarily because Red River is simple.
Main Street in the
Mountains
With two chairlifts that leave from the
center of town, you’ll find 75% of the
cabins, condos, and lodges are within
walking distance of the ski area. No
shuttle necessary. The less time you
spend trying to find a parking space, the
more time you’ll spend on the mountain
(but just in case your feet get tired, Red
River offers a free trolley to get you from
point A to point B). Just imagine pulling in
to Red River after a long car trip and never
having to get back in the car until it’s time
to leave. Folks from Red River simply put
it, “Park & ski, park & ride, park & play.”
Red River caters to a different kind
of outdoor enthusiast, one who puts
more emphasis on the total vacation
