various decentralized treatment technologies that can be seen “in action”.
Ten different processes are operating,
providing representatives of local governments, stakeholders and technicians with an opportunity to find out
more about the designs, application
range and maintenance of the different
systems. At the BDZ demonstration
site in Leipzig, 12 treatment plants are
continuously in operation, representing 10 different processes for decentralized wastewater treatment:
• Design of management systems
• Wastewater treatment technologies

Core Business - Integrated
Rehabilitation Strategy
The scope of the necessary network
rehabilitation measures and the financial pressures which result from these
require concrete definition of objectives, what pipe condition at which
point in time is to be achieved. The
consultancy Dr.-Ing. Pecher und Partner offers solutions for an integrated
rehabilitation strategy with short and
long-term perspectives for the existing
assets.
Although, during the pure repair
strategy today’s rehabilitation costs are
minimised, the net asset value drops
rapidly. On the other hand a replacement strategy usually is not financially
feasible. With the integral network
rehabilitation strategy a middle course
is offered in which the most economic
process is selected under transparent
conditions.
Dr.-Ing. Pecher und Partner offers
integrated rehabilitation strategies for
urban water and sewerage networks.
Technical reliability of network systems at high cost efficiency is ensured.
On the basis of transparent and well
proven workflows, the elaborated
rehabilitation measures fulfil fundamental sustainability requirements
regarding environmental protection,
protection of resources, operating reliability, service quality and profitability.

A think-tank for water technology
Hydro-Elektrik GmbH –
a company with decades of success in
water-related system solutions – is able
to look back over continuous growth
in recent years. This success has been
based on innovative products geared
towards benefiting its customers.
With its HydroSystemTanks in
particular, Hydro-Elektrik GmbH
has revolutionized the way in which
drinking water is stored. With this new
type of system, the water is stored in
hermetically sealed stainless steel tanks.
Tanks of up to approximately 150 m3
are produced at the company‘s factory.
Large-capacity tanks are manufactured
directly at the construction site by
means of a purpose-developed mobile
production process. This enables highquality single tanks with a volume of
up to several thousand cubic meters to
be manufactured rationally.
For water treatment, Hydro-Elektrik
GmbH can supply a wide range of
solutions to almost any treatment
problem in the shape of its compact
water treatment plants. These are
system-orientated modules for waterrelated problem solutions such as
filtration, disinfection and oxidation,
ozone bio-filtration, softening etc.
Another of the company‘s strengths is
customer-orientated project development based on complex system
solutions for both local authority and
industrial customers.
In addition to its headquarters in
Ravensburg, the company also has
a presence in Gütersloh with its
subsidiary Ravensberger Wasserauf
bereitungstechnik GmbH (RWT
GmbH) and, since 2004, in Scandinavia with its subsidiary Hydro-Elektrik
AS. The company‘s increasing international activity is coordinated from its
headquarters in Ravensburg.

Active Environment protection
by avoiding water leakage
Hidden leaks in the public mains
supplies create not only high costs but
also harm our environment to a great
extend. If exceptionally high water
leakage occurs, immediate action is
required because the duration of the
burst essentially defines the level of the
costs incurred.
The staff of Locatec Ortungstechnik

to avoid water leaks and therefore
operate systematically for the protection of the environment. Our staff ’s
core competence is detection and
tracing of water leaks.
Locatec Ortungstechnik GmbH represents a group of companies which

services. We offer effective support
for small suppliers as well as large
providers and industrial plants – from
the “on spot” detection of a leakage
through to the complete survey of the

The main points of research are:
1.The cost-efficient regeneration

anthropogenically polluted regions.
2.The overcoming of water scarcity
in climate-sensitive regions through

the Stadtentwässerung Dresden in cooperation with regional and international research and industrial partners,
aim to make tangible contributions
to an Integrated Water Resources

regions of the world – Eastern Europe,
Central Asia, South East Asia, Latin
America and the Middle East.
The Water Alliance of the Metropolitan Region of Stuttgart (WAMS) – a

Engineering services for
environmental protection
The Deutsche Abwasser-ReinigungsGesellschaft was founded in 1915 by
Dr. Otto Mohr in Wiesbaden. The
company can claim to be one of the
first of its type in Germany dealing
with technical environmental protection problems and offering solutions
for these. In cooperation with the
services of its own state approved
laboratory for waste water, sewage
sludge and soil investigations, it has
been possible for DAR to play a
decisive part in developing technical
trends in the environmental techno
logy sector over many years.
