Restaurateur and chef, Lisa Dahl does not
want to create just any restaurant experience,
she wants her guests to leave with something
that draws them back again, not just back to

and energy that one feels the moment you pass

Lisa insists that her cuisine maintains its integrity,
using only fresh and organic ingredients. Her
food is never overworked or contrived and
reflects her philosophy - that when you cook with
love and passion you feed the soul.
Chef Dahl is long standing member of the
James Beard Society and is also a Chaine de
Rotisseurs member - Maitre de Table
Restaurateur. Cucina Rustica and Dahl & Di

The doorway to the imagination awaits you
Cucina Rustica means Rustic Kitchen, which
aptly describes the restaurant’s cuisine as well
as the decor. Authentic old world doors, iron
gates and windows from around the world are
the inspiration of Chef Dahl’s mantra, “The
doorway to the imagination awaits you.”
Lisa was compelled to design a restaurant with
the warmth of an old villa. The goal was to be
able to accomodate groups and gatherings
requiring private rooms while other diners could
still enjoy their own sense of space.
Weddings as well as corporate dinner affairs
are a specialty of Cucina Rustica. Whether you
are dining in one of the unique rooms or dining
al fresco on our front or back patio we hope you
will feel welcome. After your first visit you may
indeed have a longing to come back.
We pride ourselves in successfully planning
and executing affairs for VIP groups. Dahl & Di
Luca Ristorante Italiano is celebrating 18 years
of award winning cuisine and dining excellence
and its younger sister, Cucina Rustica now a
decade old share the credo in their own unique
way, “From the most intimate gathering to the
grandest affair...”
Both restaurants have consecutively been
awarded Wine Spectator Award of Excellence
since 2007. Equal again, each restaurant has
proudly received the Chaine de Rotisseur’s
Award of Excellence.

As the sun descends behind the red rocks
of Sedona, it casts streams of soft light into the
dining room of the Dahl & Di Luca Ristorante
Italiano, the golden hue warms the rich, sienna
colored walls enhancing the romantic, Italian
inspired décor.
The dinner hour commences and the waiters are
seen balancing trays as they weave their way
around the tables, leaving trails of steam, which
exude the enticing aroma of garlic and fresh
baked bread.
As the sky becomes dark, prisms of light
reflected from the crystal chandelier illuminates
the room with an ethereal glow. The melodic
sound of the vintage piano comingles with forks
clinking on plates and the sounds of joy
beaming from the delighted patrons. It is no
surprise that the Dahl & Di Luca Ristorante
Italiano was voted the ‘The Most Romantic
Restaurant in Arizona in 2009.’
Chef Lisa Dahl’s eye for detail is evident by her
visually stunning Italian cuisine as well as the
luxurious, Old World flavor consistent throughout
the restaurant. Celebrating 18 years of award
winning success, Dahl & Di Luca Ristorante
Italiano continues to be a favorite amongst locals
and travelers.

Dahl said. “We are true to the foundation about
what the restaurant was founded on, which is

The restaurant harmoniously melds classic
Italian food with Dahl’s own signature cooking

Decadent Wood Fired Pizza
Chef Lisa Dahl does not feel that she is
original in what she creates, rather she believes
that everything that she creates is a compliment
to every great sensory and culinary dining
experience that she has have ever had.
Through Dahl’s favorite dining experiences
around pizza, she has taken that love, and has
poured it into the manifestation of her newest
restaurant Pisa Lisa.
The name Pisa Lisa is rightfully chosen,
abecause it is a piece of Lisa. While traveling in
Italy, she was introduced to a deliciously
memorable pizza from a little bistro in the
neighborhood of Trastevere in Rome. This
experience inspired the idea of opening up her
own pizzeria back in Sedona.
When Dahl returned home, she was able to
reinvent her fantastic pizza experience. She
created Pisa Lisa’s gourmet, decadent pizza.
Her unique wood-fired pizzas are a perfect
union of exquisite gourmet ingredients
combined with authentic Old World culinary
techniques. Dahl realized that she has
succeeded in her goal of an extraordinary pizza
when a couple visiting from Colorado
commented that when they were eating her
pizza they felt “happy”.
“I was not sure if I could recreate a pizza with
that special “thing” that sets it apart, I wondered
if I would we be able to achieve that delicacy
where all the ingredients are floating on the
crust, where every bite, down to the final rim
of the crust, is something so heavenly that you

cannot put it down. I can honestly say that I am
thrilled beyond words that we have been able to
achieve that goal,” Dahl said.
Pisa Lisa is not only a culmination of Dahl’s
favorite dishes but also of her love of gourmet
markets and her desire to bring a little special
treasure to Sedona, a place where she treasures
everyday as her home.
“Pisa Lisa is my wild child, it is everything that I
haven’t been able to do in the other two
restaurants. It’s casual, fun and filled with visual
imagery of food and things to make you
salivate,” Dahl said. “It allows me to be a little
more light-hearted in the approach of the entire
dining experience. It keeps me young and fresh,
I have a new light and energy in me that has
enabled me to express new flavors and
continue to explore creative ideas.”
Dahl looks at each new pizza crust like a painter
looks at a blank canvas, an opportunity to create
something wonderful. She states that every time
she throws a combination on a crust she feels
happy.
Local artist Ann Rhinehart adorned the rich,
espresso colored walls with a sense of whimsy
with her clever, shadow box collages, which
displays fun pictures of Dahl and her family.
The whimsical restaurant has an urban,
industrial feel to it, offering a lively, humorous
décor that elicits fun and promises a vibrant,
memorable dining experience for all who visit.
