The 4th Annual Rob Hamilton Memorial Golf Tournament raised more than $30,000
to benefit the Penn State Hershey Heart & Vascular Institute. Dr. Lawrence Sinoway,
Director of the Heart & Vascular Institute, dedicates the use of these funds to
support and enhance the important programs and projects that enable them to be
a national role model for comprehensive cardiovascular care.
The 2009 proceeds of the tournament were used to support the opening of the
new Rob Hamilton Library. It is a state of the art meeting room that is outfitted with
the very latest in video and communications technology. Doctors will now be able to
examine extremely high resolution video images of a patient’s heart in a conference
room setting. This new capability will serve to improve diagnosis and treatment
decisions while enhancing the quality of teaching future care givers. Additionally,
the annual Rob Hamilton Memorial Lecture continues to bring nationally recognized
experts to the Penn State Hershey Medical Center to address important topics in
cardiovascular medicine and increasing essential continuing medical education.
The Rob Hamilton Memorial Golf Tournament is able to honor Rob by helping
patients in central Pennsylvania have access to the latest advancements in
cardiovascular disease prevention, diagnosis and treatment. Please save the date for the

The Rob Hamilton Memorial Golf Tournament includes a great day of
golf, a wonderful dinner and a fabulous silent and live auction. The golf
tournament format is a team scramble and will be played on the Hershey
Country Club West Course. The dinner will be held in the beautiful and
elegant Picard Grand Pavilion. The silent auction will feature a variety of
exciting items such as exotic vacations, sports memorabilia and so much
more. Several hundred guests are expected for the event.
Rob Hamilton died suddenly on October 7, 2005. He was a well known
attorney, a loving son, brother, husband, and most importantly a devoted
father who left behind a one year old daughter and a three year old son.
Rob died of Cardiac Sarcoidosis and like many people with this disease,
sudden death occurred in the absence of a previous cardiac event.
All funds raised by the Rob Hamilton Memorial Golf Tournament will be
donated to the Penn State Heart & Vascular Institute at the Hershey
Medical Center.
Mission Statement: Help raise awareness of cardiac related diseases,
community and physician education through our lectureship series, and
research to support quality cardiac care in Central PA.
