Major Attractions
CAPITAL
LIMA
Lima was founded in 1535, its historic center, declared a World
Heritage Site by UNESCO, offers spectacular examples of baroque
architecture. Endless source of culture, it has a wide range of
museums and arqueological monuments in the city and near
beaches. Also offer a range of restaurants and welcoming places,
where you will able to try delicious cuisine as a result of the mix of
European cuisines and a mix of Asiatic and Andean cuisine.
COLONIAL CITIES
CUSCO
Behind being the center and sacred city during the Incas’ Empire,
it became a symbol of cultural miscegenation as much
architectonic between Incas and Spanish in the colonial era. The
earthquake of 1650 turned it into ruins and was reborn a city with
prominent development of the cusqueño typical art as much in
architecture, as in the woodcarving and painting. All this history
has it now become in a touristic center in South America being the
gateway to many interesting attractions, among which it stands
out doubtless the citadel of Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley.
AREQUIPA
Surrounded for the desert and mountains is a beautiful city of
convents, churches and colonial houses, declared a World Heritage
Site by the UNESCO. At only 3 hours from the impressive Colca
Valley where you will find beautiful landscapes surrounded by
terraces, mountains and volcanoes, lamas, alpacas, vicunas,
vizcachas and the Colca River.
TRUJILLO
Known as the "city of eternal spring" for its privileged climate and
festive atmosphere; it has countless archaeological attractions
highlighting Chan Chan, the largest mud city in the Americas and
ancient Chimu capital, declared a World Heritage of Mankind by
the UNESCO in 1986. The city also has a splendid Colonial
architecture where the Cathedral, the Archbishop’s Palace, the
Company’s church, the Carmen’s monastery and colonial houses
stand out.
CAJAMARCA
Historic native city with an enormous charm; in white façade’s two
story buildings stand out the wooden balconies and the typical tiled
roofs and in some colonial houses are preserved as well its
enormous worked Flint covers. Its streets are narrow and steep.
Its main square, religiously protected by the cathedral and the
church of San Francisco, remains at the center a stone's source of
the XVII century. But Cajamarca is, above all, a historical city,
whose name is closely linked to two personalities that marked the
end of the Inca Empire, Francisco Pizarro and Atahualpa, the last
king of Tahuantinsuyo.
Destinos Perú / Manual de Ventas
ARCHAEOLOGY AND NATURE
CARAL
The Sacred City of Caral, which has changed Peru history and the
world, is becoming a major destination for archeology lovers. City
built 5,000 years ago, in the same era of the Sumerian cities of
Mesopotamia, Saqqara pyramid in Egypt, India markets and the
first cities in China.
HUARAZ
Strategic location to get close to the ruins of Chavin Peruvian
cradle’s civilization and starting point for a wonderful tour of
traditional Andean towns, transparent lakes, stunning snowy and
important archaeological monuments reaching up to Huascaran
National Park; among whose attractions are glaciers, lakes and
water sources, with different routes within the Cordillera Blanca. It
was declared a Natural Heritage of Mankind by the UNESCO.
CHICLAYO
"City of the Friendship", and a few kilometers from the sea, in
there were developed important pre-Hispanic cultures as Mochica
and Lambayeque, whose remains found at different times and
circumstances, continue to surprise the world and whose legacy is
reflected in the interesting and modern museum of the Royal
Tombs of Sipan. IT IS COMBINED WITH TRUJILLO AND HUARAZ.
KUELAP
Discovered in 1843, 60 years before the citadel of Machu Picchu; it
is the jewel millennial Peruvian archeology, built by the
Chachapoyas, a fierce people who for years resisted the Incas.
Located it at the top of rocky cliffs and guarded by a giant
defensive wall, Kuelap keeps in its interior circular compartments
with decorative friezes. In the area also is seen the third highest
waterfall in the world, the WATERFALLS of GOCTA.
ICA
A long tradition associated with the desert and agriculture
surrounds city of Ica, capital’s province of the same name. The
strong winds that raise clouds of sand, locally called Paracas, have
formed singular sandy dunes and the famous plains of Ica,
jealously guarding the mysteries of ancient regional cultures,
whose vestiges can be seen in its interesting regional museum.
Despite of water scarcity, residents reached an admirable
agricultural development.
PARACAS
A 42 km of Ica is the Paracas National Reserve, 335,000 hectares
that not only is a natural paradise of rich and varied wildlife but an
important archaeological site in which there are traces of ancient
Paracas culture with an antiquity dating from 700 BC to 400 AD, a
town of great weavers whose mantles of various colors constitute
truly works of art.
NAZCA
A 142 km from the city of Ica is located Nazca city that keeps their
ancestors’ secrets, great master potters and authors of the huge
and impressive net of lines and drawings that extend over the
plains, consisting of more than 70 gigantic figures and 10,000 lines
set in the land, which have been declared Cultural Heritage of
Mankind by the UNESCO.
www.chavintours.com.pe
MACHU PICCHU AND THE SACRED VALLEY
The enigmatic complex of Machu Picchu, the most important and
beautiful legacy of the ancient Peruvian is the Historical Sanctuary
part of the same name, which is one of the few places in America,
declared Cultural Heritage and Natural of humanity by the
UNESCO. Unique place in the world, encrusted on top of a
mountain that dominates the deep canyon of the Urubamba River
in the tropical forest, compose both a center of worship and
astronomical observation and private family homestead of the Inca
Pachacutec.
The Sacred Valley, keep an extensive set of archeological remains
that articulate one of the most traveled Cusco circuits and it is
understood through the Urubamba's valley. Among them is the
fortress of Pisac with its solid granite blocks, and the SALINAS DE
MARAS, MORAY AGRICULTURAL LABORATORY, and the beautiful
terraces, fortress and the OlLLANTAYTAMBO Inca town with its
temples of worship the water and sun built in colossal rocks moved
to the top of the mountain on which it stands.
TITICACA LAKE
The highest navigable lake in the world and one’s wonders on
Earth, contains numerous islands whose inhabitants, one's oldest
towns descendants in America, the Uros have preserved ancient
customs and traditions. They live on "floating islands" artificially
made with totora, and navigate through the area in their
traditional boats also made of totora. At the shores lake the city of
Puno in Peru and in Bolivia Huatajata, collect samples of the
Tiwanaku culture, the highest expression of the Aymara people.
JUNGLE
PUERTO MALDONADO
In the province of Madre de Dios, known as "the capital of
biodiversity", offers one of the best ways to enjoy the Peruvian
Amazon. Its proximity to Cuzco and the most renowned protected
areas such as the Tambopata National Reserve and Candamo
make the jungles of Puerto Maldonado a natural paradise. This
exceptional region remains one of the world's virgin forests and it
is visited from several camps located at the shores of the rivers
Tambopata and Madre de Dios. One’s most interesting is the tour
to the Collpa de Guacamayos, a place where these birds come
seeking salty mineral providing a natural show of magic and color.
IQUITOS
Immersed in the Amazon region of Peru seeing it from the air, it is
spreading like an immense green mantle whose boundaries are
endless, is connected with the world only by air and through the
Amazon River. Apparently distant, this city whose splendor
reached the last quarter of the XIX century with the rubber boom
is, together with its surroundings, one’s most important tourist
attractions in the region.

Delivery of souvenirs: Local ceramic crafts (Chulucanas Art).
Our contribution enables more economic incomes to artisans in order to
avoid intermediaries and thus the reduction of a fair income. Our mission
is to pay a fair price, also recognizing the quality of work and the work
force employed. A direct payment to producers and artisans, also special
credit counseling for inputs, machinery and equipment. The technique of
current artisans is based on the experience of ancient ancestral cultures.
Chulucanas differ in their excellent finishing and colors which are not
strong as others, totally different from ceramics made in different regions
of this mystical country. Moreover, due to the type of craftwork that is
made, the productions of these works are limited and exclusive.
PERÚ HCT: ” DELICIOUS PERU, VERY TASTY”

Homestay Tourism
The rich cultural diversity of Peru is based on the history, tradition and
present of their communities; which occupied much of the country and
gives a plus and a special value to its tourist offer.
For visitors interested in meet and interact with other cultures visiting
native communities will become its main motivation of trip, coupled with
the approach to the artistic craftsmanship and the challenge of being a
reference of responsibility in the cultural and natural heritage
conservation.
Our responsibility with these communities is not based on preserving a
culture just for observation or just as a product, what we seek is to
promote and foster their inclusion and participation in the process of
globalization, making tourism a source of income, as well as a
conservation tool for history and nature. The challenge of being a
reference point for responsibility in the cultural and natural heritage
conservation.
For more than one decade Perú HCT-Huaraz Tours S.R.L, began working
with the communities Amantani, Takile and later in Capachica with
Llachon community and others, supporting their projects now call
sustainable tourism: using their homes for accommodation, promoting
their cooperatives of local handicraft etc. Making your visit to the Lake
Titicaca a very special experience and unique experience.
With this experience six years ago we started to support the community
of Humacchuco in the Cordillera Blanca in the project called "Huáscar
Wandy', Creating new programs and working in logistics and
infrastructure for the development of tourist activities, as well as its
educational, agricultural and health requirements among others.
Always in harmony with the environment. Being the face of the
sustainable tourism. We have now expanded our proposals and offer this
type journeys in the community of Chinchero, near Cuzco, in the
community of Queros close to the rainforests of Manu, and the area of
the Colca Canyon.
