David M. Collett and Duane D. Hoff, conductors
Coker UMC and its musicians and dancers give a
yearly enchanting gift of Christmas music to the San
Antonio community in an evening of beloved
Christmas favorites and new music of the season.
This year’s theme “Gathered ’Round the Manger” brings together
music for Christmas from those who came to worship the Christ child.
Help unwrap this year’s musical gifts as we herald the birth of the Savior.
Seating is available at 5:45 PM. *new, earlier start time!
A mirage is an hallucination, something illusory that a person
experiences in reaction to strange events or stimuli. This
program for flute and piano finds the composers reacting in their
own sublime and beautifully creative ways to real stories,
suggestive imagery and ritual dances. Featuring works
by Debussy, Prokofiev, Piazzolla and more.
Sunday, May 29, 2016 • 7 pm
Orchestra Honors Concert
Duane D. Hoff, conductor
A yearly highlight, this Opportunity Orchestra concert represents
the final performance of the season for the orchestra’s student musicians challenged to play the most demanding repertoire of the year. Graduating high
school seniors will be recognized for their academic and musical achievements
and will share their future plans with us. Join us for a wonderful night of
orchestral music favorites as we celebrate our gifted students.
