The family of Gloria (Lehfeldt) and Alvin Richart will be holding a reception in honor of their 50th wedding
anniversary on Sat., June 20 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Prairie Park next to the Sterling Recreation Center. The couple
has four children, Barbara Kelley, Bill Richart, Beverly Norwood and Brenda Blecha.
Alexis Rutz a delegate to Girls State
The American Legion Auxiliary,
Post 20, sent delegates, including
Alexis Rutz, to Columbine Girls
State recently. This program, which
has been in effect since the late
1930’s is designed to assist the girls
in learning about local, county and
state government processes.
To be eligible
to attend Girls
State a girl must
be a junior in high
school, in the top
third of her class
academically and
must indicate an
interest in learning more about
Alexis Rutz
her country and
the government.
Rutz is the daughter of Lisa Egan
and Jamie Rutz. She is a student
at Sterling High School. She is a
member of FFA, FBLA, FCLA and
HOSA and has been extremely
active in athletics. Alexis is also a
member of both a club softball team
and the high school team and has
received numerous awards on both.
She has been player of the game
many times and was all-conference
and academic all-state both her
sophomore and junior years.
She broke the schools record for
stolen bases her sophomore year
and has also excelled in track and
placed third in state in the long
jump her sophomore year. Her longterm goal is to attend Arizona State
University and eventually become a
pharmacist.
Attending with Lisa were Megan
Kaiser, Rylie Lewis, Jordan Nelson,
Emily Rutherford and Elena Wolfley.
