Hood Howdy (Feb & Aug)
The Hood Howdy fair provides information about the local
area, including: schools businesses, on and off-post agencies,
housing and Family and MWR facilities. Entertainment, food
and door prizes add fun to the welcome. Open to all. Entry

Month of The Military Child (Apr)
Each CYSS facility will celebrate with small activities in celebration of the Month of The Military Child.
Flashlight Egg Hunt (Mar)
Thousands of eggs and goodies are hidden, and children ages
two to 12 are invited to bring their baskets, flashlights and a
parent to hunt for eggs in the dark at Belton Lake Outdoor
Recreation Area. Pictures with the Easter Bunny, concessions
and other children’s activities make the evening egg-citing.
Open to the public. Gate fees may apply.
Water Festival (Jun)
Cool off this summer at BLORA with lots of fun activities for
the whole Family during the first weekend of June. There
will be free paddleboat rides, a kids’ auto wash, waterslide,
pony rides, petting zoo, climbing wall, professional fishing
demonstrations, jet ski races and a guarded swimming area
with a soft sandy beach. Open to the public. Gate fees may

Single Soldiers’ Festival (Jun)
Better Opportunity for Single Soldiers, Single Soldiers’ Festival
recognizes our geographical bachelors and bachelorette
service members.This event is tailored to them and includes
free food, entertainment, games, prizes, sports competitions

Freedom Fest (Jul)
On the 4th of July, the evening sky is transformed into the
largest 30-minute fireworks display in Central Texas. Enjoy

U.S. Army Soldier Show (Fall)
Some of the most talented active duty Soldiers throughout
the Army are selected through auditions to perform in a
high energy, 90 minute, live musical review that stops at Fort
Hood during late summer. Open to all. Entry is free.
Fort Hood Hunting &
Fishing Day (Sep)
Fort Hood’s Hunting and Fishing Day is at the Sportsmen’s
Center. Sportsmen gather for a day full of outdoor sports,
including fishing derbies, trap and skeet competitions, turkey
shoots, archery shoots and more. Open to all. Fees may apply.
Oktoberfest (Oct)
All ages are invited to come out and celebrate, with live entertainment, arts and crafts vendors, dancing, German-style
food, activities for the kids and a Strongman Competition.

Nature in Lights (Nov – Jan)
Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area transforms into a winter wonderland for kids and kids at heart each year. Enjoy
over five miles of synchronized and illuminated displays.
Guests can shop for gifts, take photographs with Santa and
enjoy hot chocolate and treats at Santa’s Village, located in
the park at Live Oak Pavilion. Open to all. Gate fees may apply.

Symphony Orchestra (Dec)
The Williamson County Symphony Orchestra performs free
for the Fort Hood community annually. These world-class
musicians fill the stage with beautiful music in a performance
