ATHENA is proud to be the first to present a Racing moped Cylinder kit with Exhaust Valve. This revolutionary Cylinder kit has been
developed from ATHENA R&D department for the popular Minarelli AM6 engine in two displacements: 40mm – 50cc and 50mm –
80cc.
The CYLINDER, made out of Aluminum alloy and plated with special Nickel Silicon coat, has been designed and developed in order
to guarantee the highest performance ever seen in this category of cylinders.
Its big water jackets guarantee best refrigeration, higher reliability and constant performance.
The Exhaust Port is provided with Two Boost Ports and Power Valve System to obtain high torque and horsepower over a wider range
of RPM.
The cast-lite piston, with flat head and Molycote finishing, has been especially designed for this cylinder and tune to the cylinder head
which has a very high compression ratio and squish area.

POWER VALVE SYSTEM

The two-stroke Power Valve System
varies the duration of the exhaust port
open time, reaching excellent low RPM
and top-end performances.
ATHENA Power Valve System uses a
guillotine valve moved by the pneumatic system, which exploits the exhaust
gas pressure.
At low RPM, when the exhaust gas has
low pressure, the Power Valve is kept
closed by a spring inside the pneumatic system.
While increasing RPM, the pressure
of the exhaust gas raises causing the
pneumatic system to move the guillotine valve upwards.
