LAUNCHING & STORAGE INFORMATION
The majority of launching will take place on Thursday, Feb 11th and nearly all the boats
haul out after racing on Sunday, Feb 14th. Anyone who is able to launch earlier in the
week, or haul on Monday is strongly encouraged to do so to avoid long lines. Trailer
parking info is listed below.
Bayshore Drive (on the west side of the Sailing Center basin) will be the staging area for
launching. The Sailing Center has 2­ton and 3­ton cranes. Traffic between Bayshore Drive and
the Sailing Center will be strictly controlled.
For those who prefer to ramp launch, the Demens Landing Boat Ramp is located on the same
island as the Sailing Center, next to the Marina Point Ship Store (500 1st Avenue SE)
A­Cat Fleet
The A­Cat, fleet will be stored and launched at SPA Beach (on 2nd Ave NE, at the base of the
municipal pier) for the duration of the regatta. These fleets may arrive to SPA Beach on
Thursday, February 12th, and must vacate the park on Sunday, February 16th. Lightning Fleet
The Lightning Fleet will launch at the Sailing Center prior to the start of the day’s racing and
will haul at the conclusion of racing each day. These fleets may arrive to the Sailing Center on
Thursday, Friday 11th, and must vacate the Center on Sunday, February 14th. NOTE: Immediately after launching on Sunday, the Lightning Fleet must move trailers/dollies to
the grass park directly across from the Sailing Center. Main Dock Plan
When you splash your boat, contact the SPYC Dockmaster on
VHF Channel 16 or 69 to receive further dockage instructions.

Trailer Parking
Parking for trailers is located in Lot 9 at Tropicana Field, just
a few minutes away from the Sailing Center. This lot is
available from February 1st ­ February 20th.

Always remember to lock your trailer and remove any
valuables.
Vehicle Parking
Parking around the Sailing Center is very limited, especially
on Saturday morning. Carpooling and walking is highly
encouraged.
