CUSTOM-MADE MILITARY MINIATURES
The majority of persons relatively new to collecting are used to receiving their military
models in kit form. It should be stressed from the start that although we also make
figures in kit form, ALL THE FIGURES LISTED IN THIS CATALOGUE ARE
SUPPLIED COMPLETELY FINISHED AND REQUIRE NO ASSEMBLY. Moreover,
each and every figure in this catalogue is truly custom-made – that is, individually
hand – animated to any desired position.
For a long time custom-made figures could only be produced at very high prices.
However, thanks to the fact that we have over twenty years’ experience of figuremaking, we are able to produce fine custom-made figures as a reasonable cost; and,
whilst they may take a little longer, you will find they are more than worth it.
When all is said and done, you do not even have to read through the lists which
follow, for we will gladly undertake to produce any figure or groups of figures designed
to meet your specific needs. We are the only company in the world able to make this
offer substantiate it.

*
*
We are the sole bona fide makers of the world-famous Stadden figures, 54mm Collector range,
as listed in this booklet.
Each figure supplied either (a)UNPAINTED or (b) PAINTED, and the prices quoted are for figures
in normal action positions: i.e. “Marching”, “Running”, “Firing”, “Advancing”,” Falling Wounded”,
“Dying”, “Reading maps”,” Giving orders”, “Pointing”, ‘Standing to attention”, “Standing at ease”,
“Standing casual”, “Presenting arms”, “Smoking a cigarette or pipe”. Apart from these we can, in
fact, make practically anything to a customer’s requirements; but all other animations including
kneeling figures- are changed for extra and special prices quoted in application.
Besides single models you can also specify your exact wants with regard to multi-figure groups
incorporating the most extraordinary life-like animations. . . whether it be Napoleon sitting on a
drum surrounded by his staff officers, storming ladder parties, camp scenes, or a complete
charge mounted cavalry over ground littered with muskets , cannon-balls, broken wheels and
general battle debris. Animals such as dogs may also be included, or bottles of wine, loaves of
bread, articles of headgear on or off the wearer’s head, maps, books –literally anything, in fact,
to complete a realistic action scene.
As already explained, such tailor-made items and animations cost extra (see price list). However,
whatever your own special requirements may be, just send us fullest details, and we will quote
by return.
SPECIAL FIGURES
In spite of our large and comprehensive list, which covers most types and periods of general
collecting, you may from time to time require a particular figure which we have not catered for.
We are quite prepared to make such figures on request and will be happy to quote you as soon
as we know your exact requirements.
THE NAPOLEONIC WARS 1804.1815
THE FRENCH ARMY
The French Army under Napoleon the first presents the
most colourful dress of any period. We have tried to
produce as many different ranks and uniforms as possible, which we feel is necessary to give a true representation. Our listing of the French Army is divided
into two sections, the first being Napoleon, his Generals and the many units of the Imperial Garde, followed by the second section comprising the main
French Army.

FOREIGN REGIMENTS IN FRENCH SERVICE
Foreign Regiments in Napoleon’s army played a very
important part, and whilst the basic cut of the uniform
was obviously French, each regiment prided itself on
having a totally different uniform colour, by which they

THE FRENCH REVOLUTION 1792-1804
AND THE CAMPAIGN IN EGYPT 1798-1801
Last but not the least we have pleasure in presenting a
French Soldier of the Revolution. This colourful figure
is made famous by many paintings and has been
reproduced by us faithfully, wearing all the trappings
of a hastily raised National Army. The figure is wearing
clogs, striped trousers and a sack holding his
belongings. A spoon wedged into his hat, and a long
straggling hair completes the figure. We have enlarged
this range with a selection of figures which bear the
well-known characteristics of the French Revolutionary
period.

THE NAPOLEONIC WARS 1804 – 1815
THE EUROPEAN ALLIES OF FRANCE
The European Allies of France were separate States
ruled mainly by Napoleon’s relatives. Their armies
constituted a large part of the Grande Armee which
invaded Russia in 1812. Their uniforms make a
striking contrast against the Blue of the French.
THE GRAND DUCHY OF WARSAW
This state was created by Napoleon in 1806-07. The
characteristic headdress of the Polish Armies, called
“Czapkas”, not only found its way into most other
Armies as the famous Lancer cap.

The British Army of this period incorporated various
change of uniform. We have tried to portray these in
as many figures as possible. The same procedure as
with the French Army has been adopted, the division

Note on British General Officers and Staff. As we
cannot possibly list all British General Officers and
their A.D.C.s we have only mentioned the names
above to portray distinctive types of uniforms. From
the types quoted, any British General Officers in full
dress or in distinctive Regimental uniform of all
branches of calvary, with their full complement of
aides, can be supplied.
BRITISH CALVARY 1806-1815
The British Calvary is listed in each distinctive branch.
Apart from the ranks mentioned below, we can supply
Sergeants for each Regiment, which we have not listed
separately in order to save space. The groups are
arranged by their uniforms.
Household Calvary
British Household Calvary were fighting regiments and
their helmets made them quite distinctive from other
Heavy Calvary Regiments.

The above constitutes the Heavy Cavalry of the British
Army, of which the Dragoon Guards were numbered
separately from Regiment number 1 to number 7. The
Dragoons were numbered Regiment number 1 to
number 6 with the exception of Dragoon Regiment
number 5, which did not exist at that period
(Waterloo). Our figures cover the period when helmets
were worn.

Light Dragoons
The British Cavalry was numbered consecutively from
number 1 to number 25 irrespective of their
branches; that is why Regiments of Light Dragoons
follow the before-mentioned Dragoon Regiments with
the number 7 up to number 25. As further guidance
we would point that the dress of the Light Dragoons,
which consisted of a tightly-laced jacket and a furcrested helmet (sometimes known as the “Tarleton”
helmet) was changed approximately 1811 to 1812 into
a quite distinct jacket with buttoned-back plastron and
shako. We have incorporated both types of uniform in
our range.

Hussars
Approximately 1806 it was decided to follow the
general fashion of other European armies of that
period by exchanging the fur-crested helmet of Light
Dragoons for a busby, and the additional fur-trimmed
and laced jacket, thereby creating the famous Hussar.
Four Regiments were singled out for this purpose and
although retaining their numbers and designation of
Light Dragoons they were called as follows:
7th or Queen’s Own Hussars
10th or Prince of Wales’ Own Hussars
15th or the King’s Hussars
18th Hussars
Of each of these four regiments we supply the
following:

British Horse Artillery was dressed very much as Light
Calvary and their uniform was most distinctive. The
Rocket Troops was the first of its kind in any ar-my.
The uniform of the British Foot Artillery was si-milar to
that of infantry, but was of a distinctive blue.

ROYAL FOOT GUARDS
Three fighting Regiments of Royal Foot Guards were in
existence at the period – 1st, 2ndand 3rd. Their dress
differed little from each other except by the spacing of
buttons. When in action their dress was similar to that
worn by infantry regiments of the Line, their tall
bearskins being reserved for Parade and full dress.
Their service dress headgear was changed in 1812,
along with the rest of the Army. Our figures
incorporate all changes of uniform.

BRITISH INFANTRY OF THE LINE
The Line Infantry of this period underwent one major
change of dress in 1812, which we have incorporated
in our figures. The main branches of British Infantry
are Infantry of the Line, Light Infantry, Fusiliers,
Highlanders and Rifle Regiments. Each branch wore a
distinctive uniform and is listed separately.

THE GERMAN ARMY 1888-1914
Infantry
The German Army prior to World War I consisted of
the armed forces of the States of Prussia, Bavaria,
Saxony, Wurttemberg, Baden, Hesse, Mecklenburg
and many smaller ones. Each of these States retained
their many and varied individual differences of
uniform, which helped to make the pre-War German
Army so colourful. As it is impossible to list all and
every Regiment and branch of the various arms.
Please bear in mind when ordering that our figures are
designed to fit every State and Contingent. For
example, where we list “Infantry”, or “Lancers”, we
mean Prussians, Bavarians, and so on.
Note- Summer Dress has long white trousers.
