Arts and Crafts
Crochet Class- Come fellowship and enjoy while learning to crochet. Classes are
Wednesday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
Quilting Class- Learn how to quilt with Ms. Thelma Johnson every Wednesday from 9:30 11:30 a.m. Supply list will be available at the front desk for anyone interested in quilting.
There is a $5.00 fee each week for quilting patterns and fabric. (No classes in July will
resume in August)
Crafts - Come and make a patriotic keychain on July 3rd at 10:00 a.m. with Katrina Ladson
the cost is $1.00 please sign up by 7/1/14
Games and Activities
Bean Bag Toss- July 14th at 10:00 a.m. and 22nd at 11:00, a.m. a game where players
takes turns tossing bean bags toward a far platform.
Bingo- Join us as we play for prizes, July 1st at 11:00 a.m. and July 10th, 15th at 11:00 and
July 24th, and 29th at 11:00 a.m.
Bible J-I-N-G-O- July 11th at 11:00 a.m. Jingo reinforces word and picture recognition. It
encourages good listening skills and motivates verbal interaction.
Modified Baseball- friendly competition of fun indoor modified version of baseball July
8th at 11:00 a.m. and 15th at 11:00 a.m. and July 21st at 11:00 a.m.
Tally Hoop- A game where you throw disc into a hoop to see who gets the most in July 9th
and July 16th at 10:00 a.m.
Wii Games- Join us in playing some active and fun games on the Wii such as bowling and
tennis. July 11th at 10:00 a.m. and July 22nd at 10:00 a.m.
Board Games – July 28th at 10:00 a.m.
Outings
On July 28th, we will travel to St. George Health Care to join their clients for a time of
singing and fellowship. We leave the center at 10:00 a.m. due to limited seating on the bus
you are welcome to drive and meet us there. Please sign up by July 25th
On July 30th we will do a monthly Grocery / Supply run to get much needed items. No
refrigerated items. We will depart the center at 9:45 a.m. and return back to the center by
12:00 p.m. Sign up by 7/25/14. Cost will be $3.00 per person.
Come and let’s travel from our seats to Hawaii and gave some fun on July 29th at 10:00 a.m.
Birthday Celebration
If you are a member of the center and have a birthday in July please make sure Katrina
Ladson, – Activity Coordinator, has your name and birthdate and Come join us July 25th at
12:00 for a birthday celebration.

St. George Prayer Network- Meets each Thursday of the month from 3:30-4:30.p.m.
Praise and Worship- Come and have some Praise and Worship with Mrs Brenda Mack
and Samella Odom July 7th at 11:00 a.m.
Bible Study- Bible class meets each Thursday from 10:00-12:00 p.m. Remember to bring
your Bible.

Health and Physical Education
Sit and Fit - July 6th at 10:00 a.m. and June 16th and July 23rd at 10:00 a.m. members
will follow a video instructor from a seated position to help increase circulation, improve
flexibility and range of motion.
Nutrition Program – July 7th at 10:00 Gayle Williford will be here to demonstrate on the
proper way to cook and eating healthy foods.
Peripheral Neuropathy Worship- Nick McBee will be here on July 7th at 10:30 a.m. to
discuss what neuropathy is and different causes, how to identify the symptoms and most
Important what you can do to relieve those symptom.
Blood Pressure and Glucose Screening- A RN from Hospice Care of SC will be here on
July 18th T 10:00 a.m. to do Blood and Glucose Screenig
Education
Benefit Bank: Free service available to seniors that provides a quick check on-line by
trained volunteer for potential program eligibility for seniors. You may qualify for
programs such as Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, Medical Assistance, Rx
assistance, and others. If the Quick check indicates that you may be eligible for one or
more benefits, the application may proceed immediately. The benefit counselor will advise
you of your scheduled appointment and the paperwork you will need to bring. Please call
(843) 871-5053 for appointment. Located in Summerville only.
Volunteers Needed
We welcome volunteers. There are many areas where volunteers would be able to
assist with programs and services such as packaging or delivering meals to the
homebound members, assisting with activities at the center, teaching classes and
conduct individual workshops to share your talents and expertise.









