6 New QX Max Laser Treatment Protocols
Melasma Protocol






Start with a macrodermabrasion (to remove the outer layer of dead skin so the laser can
penetrate more effectively)
Followed immediately by deep Q-switched ND:Yag laser treatment (which breaks up the
abnormal pigment)
Expect only mild redness for a few hours after the procedures
Also need to use Image Lightener (hydroquinone/retinol/kojic acid) and at least 30 spf
sunscreen - this is essential as it helps prevent the pigment cells from creating new
pigment. Image Lightener costs $53 and should last 4-6 weeks
Repeat once monthly for 3-4 treatments
$250 each full face treatment (price includes Macroderm and laser treatment)
Acne Scars



Start by treating the scars with Deep FX fractionated CO2 laser (most aggressive
treatments for stimulating new collagen formation and filling the scars in from
underneath). Cost depends on size of treatment area.
Then 3 months later, begin monthly Q-Switched ND:Yag laser treatments for 9-12
months. This breaks up the deep scar fibers to help flatten out the scar. $100 per
treatment
Using a Peptide Collagen stimulating product over the course of treatments will help
additionally. Our Wrinkle Relaxer product costs $58 and will last 4-6 weeks.
Brown Sun Spots (Face, Chest, Arms, Legs)




Treat individual sun spots with Q-switched KTP laser which destroys abnormal pigment
at the surface of the skin
Expect the treated spots to redden and scab (lightly). These spots will persist for about
10-14 days before falling off.
Only 1-2 treatments required (repeat in 8 weeks if needed) and results are permanent
(though new sun spots can still form)
Cost depends on number of spots
“No-Downtime” Wrinkle Treatments






Uses multiple passes at both the long pulse and Q-switched ND:Yag settings to
stimulate collagen in the deeper skin layers
Expect only mild redness for a few hours after the procedure
Repeat every 4 weeks for 6-12 treatments
We then recommend maintenance treatments to maintain best results. At least one
treatment quarterly is ideal
$100 per full facial treatment

Inflammatory Acne Treatments
 Uses both long pulse and Q-switched ND:Yag settings to kill acne-causing bacteria, to
open pores, and destroy pore-clogging debris
 Expect an increase in redness for a few hours after the procedure.
 Some patients will experience a temporary worsened acne flare-up after the first
treatment
 Repeat every 2-4 weeks for as long as necessary
 $100 for full face treatment
 Best if done in conjunction with an oral hormonal modulator such as Spironolactone
 Best if done in conjunction with at-home use of Salicylic Acid products such as our
Exfoliating Wash ($18)
Laser Facial (for decreasing pores or for relieving skin congestion)





Uses multiple passes of both the long pulse and Q-switched settings to clean out pores
and destroy pore-clogging debris. “Cleaned-out” pores then decrease in size with time
Expect only mild redness for a few hours after the procedure.
Can repeat every 4 weeks. At least three treatments are recommended for optimal
results
Best if done in conjunction with at-home exfoliation with our Advanced Exfoliating Gel
which costs $45 and will last several months
