FEATURED SHOW: Sunday 13th April
A BETTER BOY
Written by John Wilson Foster, performed by Ian McElhinney It
is 1917. William J. Pirrie, Chairman of Harland & Wolff, has agreed
to an interview about his nephew Tommie Andrews – chief designer of RMS Titanic, a ship whose name Pirrie is loath to speak. He
fondly recalls Tommie’s boyhood and apprenticeship. He re-lives
the feverish inquiries after the sinking, the scorching sermons, the
excited finger-pointing. But as it turns out, Pirrie has his own, quite
different agenda.
Sunday 4th May
Glenn Patterson in
conversation with David Park
(for The One City One Book)
“Whether you are a regular reader or haven’t picked
up a book in a long time, we want to encourage as
many people as possible to get reading and talking
about local literature this May. David’s novel is
an ideal choice for One City One Book 2013—a
fascinating story of three strong women, set in
different times and different places. One City One
Book is the perfect opportunity to rediscover books
and celebrate local writing.”
