Purpose
This document is designed to assist the students to determine large email items, save them
in their personal storage and delete emails in their ANUMAIL account
ANU Student Email – Microsoft 365 pre-migration
How do I login to my ANU Email?
1. Open a web browser (e.g. internet explorer, firefox, etc…)
2. In the address bar type in https://anumail.anu.edu.au
3. Enter your Uni ID and Password in the field.
4. Done

How do I know if I have emails that are 25MB or larger ?
See the steps below on how to determine how to determine the file size of the emails and the
attachments
1. In the Inbox message window
2. Locate and click the “Size” group field to sort the messages by size
3. Scroll to locate items that has 25MB or greater
4. Repeat the above steps for all the folders that contain emial in you ANUMail account.
*Note: Please ensure all email with attachments that are 25MB and bigger have been saved
and deleted in your ANUMAIL account prior to migration to avoid any mail issues.

How do I save the attachments in my email?
Attachments are those items or files that are included in a mail. The E-mail which includes an
attachment is indicated by an icon that looks similar to a paper strip that is present along with
the message in the Message list.
See the steps below on how to determine how to determine the file size of the emails and the
attachments
1. In the Inbox message window
2. Locate and click the “Attachment” group field
3. Select the message with the attachment
4. Locate the Attachments on the Header
5. Click one attachment
6. Select “Save File”

7. The System will ask you to “Do you want to open or save this file?”
8. Click “Save”
9. Select a folder to save it to
10. Click “Save”

*Note: Please ensure to copy the files to your personal storage devices (e.g. Portable Hard
drive, USB stick, etc…) and delete the files in the folder when using a public or shared
computer.
How do I delete emails in my ANUmail account ?
See the steps below on how to determine how to determine the file size of the emails and the
attachments
1. In the Inbox message window
2. Locate and select the email that you want to delete
3. Check the box at the left pane when you have selected a message to be deleted
4. Click the “Delete” button

5. Done
*Note: Please ensure you have selected the correct email message that you want to delete
as the system does not ask any confirmation after you have clicked on the Delete button.
Subsequently you may need to empty out the ‘deleted items’ in the “Trash”

1. In the Folder window at the left pane
2. Locate and select the “Trash” folder
3. Use the “Right mouse button” to show the menu
4. Select “Empty Trash”
5. Confirm deletion of all items by clicking on the “OK” button
