Aligning electronic solutions to the procurement lifecycle is the
most effective way of embedding desired behaviours and
managing compliance.
It also reduces costs by streamlining processes for staff and

Why a Search and Browse Catalogue (Orange)
• Not all DEC staff have access to DEC’s financial systems
• All DEC staff have access to DEC’s Intranet where they can locate the DEC
Online Search and Browse Catalogue containing over 1 million catalogue
items
• Not all products catalogued are suitable for ordering electronically such as
products that require consultation and quotes, eg.
• Imaging devices
• Solar panels
 These products can only be found on the DEC Online Search and Browse Catalogue

Why a Purchasable Catalogue (Purple)
• The Purchasable Catalogue is accessed through DEC’s purchasing systems
 TAFE and Corporate SAP
 LMBR 229 Schools SAP
 Other Schools SECO
• All DEC Buyers and approvers with access to the above systems can access
the DEC Online Catalogue through these systems to create shopping carts
and have the shopping carts approved. Once the orders are approved they
are sent electronically to vendors.
