If your TEEC studies are part of your training for ministry in your
church, then please consult your denominational authorities for
suggestions, recommendations or requirements regarding your
study path. Also speak to your local minister about your studies
as some of the courses will require you to do practical work in
your local context.

A completed College Registration Form together with payment
must be submitted between 01 October and 31 January. Late
registrations are not accepted, no exceptions. New students must
submit their original Matric Certificate (which will be returned
to you). A significant discount is offered for registrations before
31 December and a lesser discount for registrations before
15 January. This will also ensure the early arrival of your study
materials, and give you extra time for your first assignments.

This programme is required to be renamed and realigned to the
revised NQF. This means that 2011 is the last year that students
completing this programme will be awarded the “Bachelor of
Theology”. From 2012 this programme with be a “Bachelor
of Arts (Theology)”, with some adjustment to the advanced
courses. The College has not chosen to make this change, but
is required to do so as a result of changes to legislation affecting
Higher Education. (Government Gazette No 30353).

The following courses are to be completed for this qualification:
After completing the Fundamental Course, you continue with the Core courses. Note the level of difficulty before choosing your course (See the back page for the recommended route.), then proceed to the Electives.
In your final year of study you will do the Compulsory Course 7401 integrating Theology and Ministry.
FUNDAMENTAL COURSE:
Compulsory (unless granted recognition of prior learning). This may be taken in conjunction with other courses.
7000 • Developing skills for theological study: 10 credits. (Introductory) All first year students begin with this course unless RPL has been granted.
CORE COURSES:
Compulsory and to be completed, in any order, before the electives except for 7001. When the core is almost complete, electives may be included. The level of difficulty of courses is given in brackets.
7002 • Engaging with people pastorally and ethically: 22 credits. (Introductory)
7003 • Growing spiritually, thinking theologically: 24 credits. (Introductory)
7004 • Interpreting texts: Biblical and other Christian sources: 30 credits. (Introductory) This is a very large course and should be taken alone or with a smaller course.
7005 • Practising Christian leadership and management: 12 credits. (Intermediate) May be taken with the AIDS course. Assessment dates are staggered.
7006 • Facilitating a Christian response to HIV/AIDS: 12 credits. (Intermediate) May be taken with the Leadership course. Assessment dates are staggered.
7001 • Doing ministry for a change: 26 credits. (Advanced) This course should be taken during the later years of your study.
