How to reach Trento
By plane
There are no international airports in Trento. The closest airports are the
following:
o Verona (100 Km) is the nearest and most convenient airport to Trento.
It is mostly served by flights to and from mainland Europe, Ireland and
the UK. From here, it is easy to reach the Verona railway station by
means of a 20-minute shuttle service. The trip from Verona to Trento
takes approximately 1 hour and there are trains departing every hour
(see section "By train" below).
o Munich (335 Km), located in Germany, is a very good international
airport with a good connection to Trento by train. The trip from Munich
to Trento takes approximately 5 hours (see section “By train” below).
o Milan (Malpensa) (264 Km) is the nearest long-haul international airport
to Trento. By means of a 45-minute shuttle service it is possible to reach
the Milan railway station, where you can take a train to Trento (see
section "By train" below). In general, the total time for the trip is 3 hours
(about 2 hours from Milan to Verona and 1 hour from Verona to Trento).
o Venice (173 Km) is an alternative long-haul international airport which
is about 3 hours from Trento by train. To get to the train station from the
airport there is a shuttle service that takes about half an hour.

o Brescia (160 Km)
o Bergamo (180 Km)
o Innsbruck (181 Km – Austria)
o Milano – Linate (226 Km)
By car
Trento is located on the principal North-South motorway (autostrada/
Autobahn) A22, and is approximately 240 km northeast of Milan and 100 km
north of Verona.

By train
From both Verona and from Milan there are frequent daily trains running to
Trento, which is located conveniently on the principal Verona-Brennero railway
line. The approximate journey from Verona is 1 hour, while it is 3 hours from
Milan.
From North (Munich, Innsbruck) there are also daily trains running to Trento.
The approximate journey from Innsbruck is 2 hours.

Bahn web site.
Travellers should remember that tickets must be validated before boarding
trains in Italy. To do so, you must use the yellow machines found on the
platforms.

FIRST DAY – DICAM
DEPARTMENT OF CIVIL, ENVIRONMENTAL AND MECHANICAL
ENGINEERING
THE Department of Civil, Environmental and Mechanical Engineering
(DICAM) is placed by the former Faculty of Engineering of Trento, in a
beautiful building surrounded by a Mesiano park.

HOW TO REACH THE DICAM from Trento
By Bus: every 20 minutes the bus nr. 5 leave from the railway station (10
minutes trip). The Bus stop at the Faculty gate. Please buy the thicket before
getting on the bus, for the return too. The bus nr. 9 stop at “Ponte Lodovico”,
which is about 5 minute on foot from the Faculty gate.
By Train: Valsugana line (direction Borgo-Bassano), stop at "Mesiano-Povo"
On foot: a nice walk from the City Center, along via Grazioli and then to the
path to Povo, crossing the Fersina creek on an ancient stone bridge (about 30
min.)
By Bicycle: the same way as on foot.

By Car: who wish to reach DICAM by car from Trento (Trento Centro
motorway-exit) take the bypass direction Padova to Trento est, after the
tunnel "Laste" at the roundabout take the second exit direction to Povo, San
Donà, Trento Centro. Go down about 500 meter direction Trento Centro, at the
second roundabout take the second exit, you will find all the information
sign for the Faculty of Engineering. The Faculty is located about 1 km from the
ring road.
For those coming from Padova we recommend to follow always the signs for
Trento east (attention to signals around the new galleries). At the roundabout
take the first exit and go down, at the second roundabout you will find all the
sign for the Faculty.
For those coming from the city center follow the signs direction to Piazza
Venezia and from there the signs to Povo.
The large-white building of the Faculty of Engineering is located a few km on
the hill of the city.

SECOND DAY – PIAZZALE S. SEVERINO
The bus for the technical visit to CLT Companies will depart from parking
(piazzale) S. Severino. The parking is located a few minutes’ walk from the
train station, near the city center.

THIRD DAY - ARTS AND LETTERS DEPARTMENT
The third day of the course will take place at the Arts and Letters Department.
The Faculty is located in the heart of the historic center of Trento, just a short
walk from the Cathedral (Piazza Duomo) and 10 minutes’ walk from the
railway station.
