How to Quickly Put UPC Internet
and UPC Telephone Service into Operation

Connecting procedure
(in case of replacing the modem with a different type of modem, use the current adapters (3 and 4) and a new power supply)
1.By means of a coaxial cable (4), connect the data output of the wall output socket to the modem input labelled “cable“ and tighten the connections with the provided spanner (5)
2. Connect the modem and the PC by means of the provided UTP cable (3) to the inputs labelled “ETHERNET“ or
3. Connect the modem via power supply (2) into the mains socket.

If everything is ok, the lights on the front panel of the modem will light up within a few minutes, according to the type, see the picture below, and you will
be able to use the services that you have ordered.

The service is provided from the day when the technician successfully puts into operation the end point (i.e. the wall outlet socket in your appartment)
or on the day when the self-install package is delivered, if the end point has already been put into operation.

Connecting the telephone (with the UPC Telephone service)
If you have ordered a telephone service, unpack the telephone and by means of the provided cable, connect the “TEL1“ output on the modem to the
“LINK“ input on the telephone.
4 Setting up network connection

Click on START > CONTROL PANEL > NETWORK CENTER > MANAGE NETWORK CONNECTION to get to the “Local Area Connection “ icon. With the right
mouse button, select the item “Properties“ and tick “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)“. Then select “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)“
select “Properties“. Tick the boxes “Obtain IP address automatically“ and “Obtain DNS server address automatically“.
Repeat the procedure for “Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)“, confirm by pressing the “OK“ button and close all windows.

mouse button, select the item “Properties“ and tick “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)“. Then select “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)“
select “Properties“. Tick the boxes “Obtain IP address automatically“ and “Obtain DNS server address automatically“.

Wi-Fi Connection
1.The supplied equipment has been preset for wireless operation. The name of the preset network and the preset password is written on the sticker on
the bottom part of the modem, e.g.
SSID: UPC 495317 Password: OMPIYZDY. Note that the password is case sensitive!!!
2. Open the network connection:
- Double-click on “Wireless Network Connection“
- The system will find available networks. Select your network corresponding to the name on the modem sticker (e.g. UPC 495317)
- Click on “Connect“ and enter the key, i.e. the password written on the sticker on the bottom part of the modem
- Click on “Connect“
3. If the PC is not connected to the Internet, check that the TCP/IP protocol of your PC for wireless network
is set to the dynamic IP address.
