Job Location: 3240 Mavis Road, Mississauga
The Opportunity
This position reports to the Technology Supervisor, Engineering & Asset Systems.
The successful candidate will contribute to system analysis, design, development, testing and implementation of projects
related to Outage Management System (OMS) and AM/FM/GIS technologies. Additional responsibilities include
maintenance and support of these systems and other related applications and services.
In addition, you will:












Provide application configuration, development and support for OMS and GIS technologies
Work with other team members and stakeholders to determine system requirements to meet business objectives
Prepare requirements, design, technical and end-user documentation
Perform the Design and Build phases of OMS and AM/FM/GIS projects as well as act as a key participant in the
Testing and Implementation phases (inclusive of work done by 3rd parties), maintaining best practices in project
delivery
Provide technical support for applications and middleware technology used within Engineering & Asset Systems
to meet or exceed levels agreed to with the business, maintaining best practices in operational service delivery
Work with IT Technology Supervisors/Leads to develop/maintain single view technology architecture for the
business
Document and perform system changes according to established change management procedures
Support end-users with respect to software problems and queries for all Engineering IT products
Create, maintain and support various reporting requirements
Perform standby duties to support critical corporate applications
Provide user documentation and training
Perform other duties as assigned
The ideal candidate will possess the following required skills and experience:










Computer Science or an Engineering degree - an acceptable combination of education and experience may be
deemed an equivalent
Minimum of three (3) years’ work experience in Outage Management Systems, engineering design applications,
GIS and/or data warehousing
Ability to create and derive from business cases, business specifications and technology requirements
Ability to work in a team oriented, high volume, fast paced environment
Solid organizational skills with the ability to prioritize a large number of tasks, adhering to tight deadlines
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a strong customer service focus
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to handle stressful situations
Understanding of GIS, CAD, OMS or SCADA systems would be an asset
Strong working knowledge of:
 Oracle Database Administration
 Windows 2008 Server



Engineering design work flow concepts
PL/SQL programming
XML/XSL programming
Salary will be commensurate with range and experience. This position is based 35-hour work week.
