Course Description
Generally this course is specific for process engineers
which are involved in the production processing facilities .
Course Objectives
At the end of this course the attendee supposed to be
able to:
n Investigate the production technologies/problems and
how to be familiar with the gas processing trouble
shooting.
n Understanding the recovery reclamation process
n Analyzing production reports
n Advanced quality control check
n Operate according to your company/international
n Oil companies (IOCs) standards and procedures to
achieve a production target.
n Prepare all related job documentations; job procedures,
risk assessment and HAZOP report for new modifications.

n Gas and oil production
n Physical properties of Natural gas: Terminology, Pressure, Partial Pressure, Dalton’s Law of Partial Pressures, Temperature, Temperature Scale, Molecular
Weight, Ideal Gas Law & Gas Density.
n Phase Behavior of natural gas: One component system (Pure Component), Tow component system, Multi
Component System & Phase Equilibrium calculations.
Production reports.
n Gas Dehydration & Hydrate Prevention Methods:
Gas hydrates & Hydrate formation conditions, Hydrate
prevention by Chemical, Methanol/Glycol comparison,
Glycol type selection, Glycol Dehydration Process,
Glycol reclamation process, solid desiccant Dehydration methods, Desiccant choice, Dehydration steps,
Adsorption, Process description.
n Discuss logic in operating procedures and sequence
of steps.
n Diagnose gas plant operation problems.
n Describe procedures of trouble shooting.
n Recognize key points usually included in production
operation reports

About the Instructor
n TÜV Middle East Certificate will be issued to all attendees.
n Course Fee mentioned is per delegate.
n Avail an attractive 10% discount on course fee if you
register 30 days before course start date.
n Courses will be conducted during the designated
dates at a 4 star or 5 star hotel in the designated city.
n Payments to be made in advance. Exact venue of the
training will be notified two weeks prior to course start
date.
n This rate includes course notes, buffet lunch, coffee/
tea on arrival, morning and afternoon of each day.
n Accomodation is not included in course fees. However, any accomodation required can be arranged by

Eng. Ahmed Shoman has more than 10 years experience with
BP- EGPC Joint Venture “GUPCO” in Ras Shukier Gas Plant.
He is specialized in the gas processing plant including separation systems, gas conditioning units both Dehydration and
sweetening, storage & terminal facilities and potable water
production plants including the Reheat Desalination Units (RH
Units) and the Reverse Osmosis Desalination unit (RO Unit)
safely and efficiently operated through a safe manner applying
BP-GUPCO Safety Golden Rules. He is also concerned with all
materials used in gas plant. Eng. Ahmed is an instructor for Natural Gas Processing courses for EBGDCO NGL plant delivering
several courses in Gas Processing, Gas Sweetening, Petroleum
Refinery and many other.

natural gas plant (pressures, temperatures, feed flow rates
of the gas ), and the production of Sales gas, LPG, Naphtha
& Potable Water from RH Units ( its amounts and its specifications).
Familiar to deal with all references, manuals, PFDs & PIDs.
All materials used in our gas plant (chemicals, filters, solid
descents also make a daily, monthly & annual reports include
all the former points Familiar to DSC operating control devices”800 XA industrial IT”, plant control philosophy, and its software configurations particularly the Adva Build & Operate IT.
Can deal with all storage & loading terminal facilities (spherical & cylindrical tanks [floating & fixed roof]) (Tankers Shipping through Berths, Trucks through Loading Arms & Pumping through Pipelines).
