This quick response allows the ZyWALL UTM's integrated anti-virus feature to react to new threats as
fast as possible, reducing the risk of massive network infection.
#1 Update Frequency:
Anti-virus software is as good as its latest update. No matter how powerful an anti-virus solution is,
frequent updates of signature files are required to keep up with the pace of new viruses and their
mutations.
Like Detection Rate and Response Time mentioned before, Kaspersky Lab leads the industry again
with the frequency of anti-virus updates. As researched by AV-Test.org Research Group, Magdeburg
University, the number of Kaspersky anti-virus definition updates from January 1 to January 31, 2005
(excluding corrupted, incomplete, duplicate and Beta updates) was a stunning 573, nearly 100 times
more than Symantec Anti-Virus.
It's clear that new updates help the system to block attacks and infections effectively, making realworld performance as good as advertised.
World's First Anti-Virus / IDP Turbo Card
ZyXEL SecuASICTM is the cutting-edge chipset that uses DFA and CPI technologies to greatly enhance

For instance, a Layer 2/3/4 lookup such as switching, routing or even load balancing takes as little as 50

computing power than simpler tasks.
