Rosary for Peace
Join us on the weekend of October 9th and 10th to
pray the Rosary for Peace.
Saturday, October 9th we will meet at
Our Lady’s Lawn (by flag) following 5
PM Mass (about 6:30 PM). By the light
of our candles we will pray the Luminous Mysteries and sing hymns.
Sunday, October 10th we will meet
immediately following the 7:30 AM
Mass and pray the Glorious Mysteries.
If you would like to lead a decade at
either of these occasions, please contact the office THIS week.
From the Desk of the
Pastor, Fr. André Ramos
This weekend, in the first reading,
the Scriptures said, "Woe to the
complacent!" Some might ask still,
woe to whom? Or who are described as complacent? I believe they are those pleased with the bare
minimum of the requirements of their faith and their
moral conduct. They like reading and living God's
word if it demands not much but when it challenges
them to do much more, they disappear from the
scene. They hide away--behind the cloak of busyness, or youthfulness or age, illness or weakness or
other often justifiable excuses--when God's will asks
them to walk the so-called Extra Mile. And yet, this
woe word is not an anathema but a clarion call, a
further challenge, an invitation to greater conversion.
The Ministry Fair last weekend was part of this invitation. Sure, some parishioners are used to merely attending Mass and participating in pious devotions.
But when they signed up for greater involvement in
our parish, last week or even before, they were making the right response.
Many thanks to Judi Putnam and the leaders, coordinators and other volunteers who manned the tables
on behalf of their ministries and organizations during
this year's fair.

Claro algunos feligreses
