OUTBOARD RANGE
THE NEVE LEGEND
Our heritage is as rich and colourful as the legendary Neve Sound. Neve has been building the finest sounding audio consoles since 1961. The unrivalled
quality of workmanship and design, the Class A circuitry and engineering excellence, created the consoles that changed the way recordings were
made and gave birth to the Neve Legend.
The passionate commitment of Neve employees helps give Neve that unique sound and character. The equipment presented in this brochure has been hand
built and tested by Neve technicians in Burnley, England, to ensure that each and every unit is blessed with the legendary Neve sound.
Neve has gone to extraordinary lengths to ensure that classic equipment such as the 1073, 1081 and 1084 conform to the exact specifications of the original
1970’s designs. All Classic units are manufactured in exactly the same way, using exactly the same components, they are the real thing.
“The sound’s in the iron” is a common expression amongst engineers and producers discussing Neve equipment. The iron is the transformer at the heart of
many of the classic circuits employed in Neve outboard. The original Neve designed transformers are manufactured exclusively for Neve to very tight
specifications. Only Neve can guarantee that famous Neve sound.
A classic Neve 80 Series console is worth more today than when it was originally purchased!
1073 MIC PRE & EQUALISER
Born in May 1970, the 1073 preamp is the world’s
most desirable and famous preamp. Originally
fitted to the custom console for Wessex A88, the
module was used extensively during the 1970’s
on the Neve Consoles that defined recording
techniques on a generation of classic records.
This hand built Class A module offers 3 bands
of EQ with one fixed high frequency band and
two switchable bands with cut and boost and a
high pass filter.
Low noise and distortion and generous overload
performance are important features of the 1073
design. The reissue modules are exactly the
same as the original designs and contain all of
the original components, the transformers are
manufactured exclusively for Neve to very
precise specifications.
The 1073 can be purchased as single or multiple units.
The 1073 has been designed to perfectly retrofit into the
80 Series Neve Classic consoles as part of a channel strip
or mounted in a custom frame.
The mic pre and EQ combination add warmth
and depth to recordings, bringing out ambience,
