MRA Letter
It is my distinct pleasure to welcome you to the 2016 New England Food Show!
This past year has been unlike any other in developing our region’s annual
restaurant, foodservice and hospitality event. No longer sharing the BCEC with the
Boston Seafood Expo, we’ve partnered with the National Restaurant Association®
to produce this year’s NEFS, which has led to an expanded exhibit floor, enhanced
educational programming and some new exciting Show floor features.
As always, the New England Food Show is the place where our region comes
together to get business done the old fashioned way—face to face. This is where
personal relationships replace online ordering. Where fistbumps and handshakes
replace keyboards and telephones. It’s my favorite way to do business.
As you browse the schedule and the floor plan, a few highlights that I can’t help
but be excited about include:
•
Sunday’s Keynote presentation from Aerosmith drummer and budding
restaurateur, Joey Kramer
•
Monday’s conversation with the country’s most popular governor,
Massachusetts Governor, Charlie Baker
•
Our first-ever all-industry party, at Empire on Sunday night, featuring the
Boston regional Star of the Bar mixology competition
•
Enhanced educational programming throughout the Show, featuring trends
and data experts from the National Restaurant Association and Technomic
•
A new focus on technology in the restaurant space, including the new
DigiTECH Bar, where you can stop by and ask questions about any and every
tech issue on your mind
So let’s get to it! Enjoy browsing, connecting, shopping, networking, learning,
engaging and celebrating the greatest industry in the world—the hospitality
industry. I’ll look for you on the Show floor!
Best,
Bob Luz
President and CEO,
Massachusetts Restaurant Association
I am delighted to welcome you to the 2016 New England Food Show.
This year and this event marks a significant advancement in partnership
between the National Restaurant Association and the Massachusetts Restaurant
Association—one that we hope will serve as a model for how the NRA and the
State Restaurant Associations will collaborate moving forward.
The National Restaurant Association is proud to partner with Massachusetts on
the 2016 New England Food Show. We believe working together to produce
something truly spectacular benefits our entire industry.
From the beginning of this partnership with the MRA, our goal has been to protect
the culture and the personality of the New England Food Show; to share our
experience of producing the annual NRA Show with an event that has and will
continue to reflect New England’s unique needs, interests and sensibilities.
As you walk the Show floor and participate in the programming of the 2016 New
England Food Show we believe you’ll feel completely at home—and at the same
time find yourself surprised and delighted by the enhancements in education,
and overall Show floor excitement.
That to us is success and the wonderful result of a winning partnership.
Warm Regards,
Dawn Sweeney
President and CEO,
National Restaurant Association

GOVERNOR’S LETTER
Dear Friends:
March 2016
On behalf of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Karyn and I
welcome you to the 2016 New England Food Show Convention,
sponsored by the Massachusetts Restaurant Association.
Every year the New England Food Show Convention welcomes
nearly 300 exhibitors to showcase some of the best foods,
beverages and culinary supplies in the world. This year, the New
England Food Show is excited to announce its new strategic
partnership with the National Restaurant Association, whose
participation will greatly enhance this and future conventions.
The New England Food Show Convention brings together trade
show professionals, and buyers and owners from both small and
large establishments to display their talents, as well as build lasting
relationships to enhance the culture of the food industry. I am
honored and excited to join you all for this year’s convention.
Best wishes to you all; enjoy New England’s dishes and happy
eating!
Sincerely,
CHARLES D. BAKER
