HILLSONG 2015 MEETING
A meeting of all those planning to attend Hillsong next year and also those who are
interested and want to know more, will be held TODAY after the morning service. Online
registration, transport and accommodation options will be discussed.
NEXT SUNDAY
Our guest speaker at next Sunday’s services will be MJ Want, who is the Young Adults
Pastor at Heathmont Baptist Church and works on Light FM Christian radio. He will also
be meeting with our young adults here at the church next Saturday afternoon from 2pm.
iKIDS TAKEOVER SERVICE
Our morning service on Sunday 26th October will be taken over by the iKids team. All
children and adults are invited to come along to be entertained and hear a message
presented by the kids and their leaders. (There will be no Kids Ministries operating in the
children’s area on this day.)
BAPTISM SUNDAY
We have set aside Sunday 9th of November as Baptism Sunday. If you are interested in
knowing more about being baptised, please speak to one of our Pastors.
CHURCH AGM
Our church Annual General Meeting this year will be held on Sunday 23rd November.
Annual reports from all Ministry leaders will need to be emailed to the church office by
the end of October to enable them to be collated and presented before this meeting. Our
AGM presents an opportunity to appoint new (& used) deacons. This year, Tim van
Emmerik and John Lorimer’s two year term of office will expire, however, they are eligible
for re-election. If you would like to nominate someone to represent you as a deacon,
nomination forms are available at the Info Desk.
GIFT SHOP
Sale Baptist Church is starting up a gift shop, “Made with Love” in the old bookshop area.
The emphasis will be on handmade gifts. Profits from sales will go towards missions of
the church. The opening day will be Sunday the 26th of October from 9:15-10:00am
before church and 11:30-12:00pm after church. It will be open fortnightly on Sunday
throughout the month of November. Please come and share in the opening, with cake and
coffee before the service. (If anyone makes handmade items they wish to sell in the shop
please see Claire Clamp.)
MISSIONS GARAGE SALE
On Saturday 22nd November our Missions team will be holding a garage sale here in the
church hall. Now is a great time to have a Spring clean and start sorting and saving your
items to donate for the sale. Please do NOT start bringing your items in to the church yet
- save them for the week before the Garage Sale.
IGNITE YOUTH
This Friday we will be having a Mix and Don’t Match night.
Keep up to date with what is happening at Youth at www.ithasstarted.com
STUDENT ACCOMMODATION
Those heading to Melbourne for university next year may be interested in student house
accommodation provided by Ashburton Baptist Church and Murumbeena Baptist
Church. More information about this is available at the Info Desk.
CAMP COOLAMATONG
Scripture Union are holding a number of Summer Holiday Camps at Camp
Coolamatong, which is situated on the Banksia Peninsula near Paynesville. Flyers with more details on the camps are available from the Info Desk or go to www.campcoolamatong.com
to find out more and register.
PHILIPPINES MISSION TRIP
In October, Ps Robert and James McIvor are once again heading off to the Philippines, to
continue the training of 50 pastors. Most of these pastors are unpaid. You can sponsor
one (or a half) to attend the week of training/lectures for $120. This covers food, accommodation and any other costs. At present our missions budget covers 85% of the cost,
while locally they contribute 15%. Please either direct credit into the church account,
clearly marked, or place in the offering over the next few weeks.
THREADS OF HOPE
All ladies are invited to our monthly craft afternoon which will be held this Saturday 18th
from 1.30pm till 5.30pm here in the church hall. You are welcome to bring your crafts
with you and stay for all or only part of this time. Please speak to Del Donoghue if you
want to know more.
Pray!
