ALL BOWLERS MUST REPORT ONE-HALF HOUR BEFORE SQUAD TIME
1. Entry will be open to all female members of the Northern Utah USBC Association.
2. USBC Tournament rules shall govern this tournament. Each group or individual whose name appears on this
entry blank does hereby agree to abide by the tournament rules and regulations of the Northern Utah USBC
Association together with the playing rules of the United States Bowling Congress. Any disputes will be settled by
the Tournament Chairperson and the Tournament Chairperson’s decision is final.
3. This is a handicap tournament. Handicap will be based on 90% of 240. Entrant will use their highest 20132014 NUUSBCA book average. If there is no 2013-2014 book average, current average with a minimum of 12
games as of November 1, 2014 will be used. A bowler holding membership in two or more USBC Associations
must use their highest 2013-14 USBC established book average. All others must bowl scratch. The entrant must
use her highest average whether bowled as regular member of a league or as a substitute. If an entrant is using a
current season average, a verified average must presented before the entrant bowls her first event or the entrant
must bowl scratch. USBC rules 319 D and 319 E are waived for this tournament.
4. Preferred entries must be postmarked no later than midnight, Wednesday, October 25, 2014. Re-entry’s (walkins) will be allowed up to 1 hour prior to last squad, lane availability permitting.
5. Bowlers who for health reasons cannot bowl singles and doubles (6 games) at one squad time may request
separate squad times for these events. Request for this health reason must be submitted with entry form.
6. An entrant may participate in the team event more than once, however not more than three bowlers on one team
can place more than once in the prize list for position standing. Substitutes and women from sanctioned mixed
leagues are eligible to make up a team. An entrant, who bowls singles, must also bowl doubles. An entrant, who
bowls doubles, must also bowl singles. Doubles event Re-entry’s will not be required to bowl the singles event
twice.
7. When a bowler competes more than once, her first appearance in each event shall count towards her all events
score, which is the total of her team, singles and doubles scores.
8. Substitutes are allowed when replacement is necessary. The Tournament Manager must be advised of all subs.
In case of an emergency after a game(s) has started, a substitute, if one is available, shall be allowed in the team
and/or doubles. If no substitute is available, only the actual scores of the frames bowled will count.
9. A substitute will not be required to reimburse the original entrant for the entry paid, nor shall the substitute expect
to get any prize money or award she may win.
10. Disorderly conduct of any kind may disqualify the bowler. An individual may be the cause of disqualification of all
members on a team or her doubles partner.
11. In case of first place ties for any event, CO-CHAMPIONS WILL BE DECLARED. If a tie occurs, prize money will
be combined and divided equally among the tied position winners. The Scratch All-Events winner will receive a
plaque, have her name engraved on the Denny Yu Trophy and the Trophy will be displayed in the winner’s home
bowling center. You do not have to pay the scratch all-events fee to win the scratch all-events trophy. All prize
fees will be returned 100% within each event, at a ratio of at least one prize for each eight entries or major fraction
thereof.
12. THERE WILL BE NO FORM OF GAMBLING WHILE BOWLING IN THE TOURNAMENT. Brackets and card
games do not constitute gambling per USBC rule 15
13. No entry fees will be returned.
14. DRESS CODE -- TAKEN FROM THE USBC WOMEN’S NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS -- NO EXCEPTIONS:
NUUSBC Women's Championships participants are encouraged to display their team spirit by wearing
matching outfits during competition, and teams that do so (no jeans) will be eligible for a special Pride
Pin Award. Dressing alike isn't required, but there are guidelines about what may and may not be worn
on the lanes at the Women's Championships. Participants may not wear tank tops, halter tops, bare
midriffs, tube tops, workout attire (Spandex or sweatpants), spaghetti strap tops, short shorts or skirts (if
a bowlers fingers are below the hemline, the shorts are considered too short and not suitable), bib
overalls, torn or unclean jeans, shirts or T-shirts with offensive language/pictures or hats (except for
medical reasons).
