Posnania – new shopping centre opens in Rataje
Located near Rataje Roundabout, Posnania is an innovative concept integrating commercial, service, social and cultural functions. This place is designed with respect for the needs and
lifestyles of present-day consumers: people appreciating life quality and comfort. Posnania will cover an area of ca. 260,000 sq. m (of which 100,000 sq. m of rented surface) and it will be the
first shopping centre with a regional range and the largest mall in Poznań. The needs and tastes will be satisfied by 300 various sales and service outlets, including restaurants and cafés, a
swimming pool, a fitness club and a cinema. The opening of the complex is planned in the second half of 2016. It will offer a new customer service quality involving the use of high technologies. Visitors will be able to use WiFi free of charge around the Centre with an option to geolocate the specific shop or their car in the car park, consult digital maps and make mobile payments. Posnania also offers a package of additional services such as advice from a stylist, home deliveries, playground and kids care centre, as well as concierge services.
Posnania will bring positive changes to the area on the right bank of the Warta. Their effect will be modernised road infrastructure and new transport solutions, trigger to development of
the now undeveloped land, new passageways for pedestrians and bike paths connecting the district of Rataje with the city centre. Apsys Polska, the investor of Posnania, will allocate about
80 million PLN to these measures. Along with the modernisation of infrastructure the inhabitants of Poznań can also count on a few thousand of new jobs, additional receipts for the local
businesses and for the city budget.

Pedestrian safety
The bike routes around Posnania (longer than 4 kilometres) will be
incorporated into the network of bike paths of Poznań to enable
smooth access to the city centre. In addition, the Centre will provide bicycle racks and a city bike station within its premises.
Pedestrian safety is ensured around Posnania.
Among other solutions, pedestrian refuges, elevated
crossing, and traffic lights are used.
Comfortable access
by city transport
Posnania encourages trips via means of city public transport. Direct
access will be possible thanks to new bus stops and the nearby
bus station in Rataje will make it possible for residents of suburban
areas to visit the Centre.

The trigger stimulating the development of Rataje is the
development of infrastructure in land neighbouring on
the investment: building a water supply system, sanitary sewerage, rainwater sewerage and laying telecommunications cables for the future housing, service and
office building development (according to the Local
Spatial Management Plan).

textured strips and sound signalling will be used. Sloped
curbs will ensure comfortable movement to wheelchair

An alleyway will connect Posnania Centre with Rataje
Roundabout. It will be a space for cultural and entertainment activities, similar to the amphitheatre where,

Innovative concept of Posnania
The innovative architecture of Posnania, created by an American company RTKL Architects, reflects the mission of the Centre as a place for socializing, entertainment and finding inspiration
in creating one’s own style.
The concept of the Centre is based on roomy public spaces being a “miniature city”. These are not only shops but also streets, alleys, a boulevard, an amphitheatre and squares which will
soon be vibrant with life. They will provide a natural setting for many cultural, art and fashion events. Posnania will be a facility built and managed with respect for the principles of sustainable
development. The projected green areas within its perimeter and numerous bike paths and conveniences for cyclists and pedestrians will make Posnania a friendly and integrating place
