LAUNCHES NORTHERN IRELANDS 1ST ICE SKATING ACADEMY
Over the years we have all heard off, read about and watched on TV the amazing success stories of Ice Skating Champion
Dempsey Andrews as she progressed to amazing successful levels.
With over 14 years’ experience on the ice as a Champion Ice Skater and professional show skater, it was with no surprise that
Dempsey was selected as Northern Irelands 2012 Olympic Ambassador and torch bearer and carried the Olympic torch through
Northern Ireland.
With a bursting and inspiring portfolio of achievements, awards and honours to her name Dempsey has become one of the
most recognisable Ice Skaters in Northern Ireland if not the UK winning 25 UK Podium position including 16 consecutive GOLD
medals in UK competition.

Dedicating her life to the sport she fell in love with from the age of 5yrs old Dempsey has now launched Northern Irelands 1 Ice
Skating Academy at Dundonald International Ice Bowl, offering private one to one coaching lessons open to all ages and abilities.
Dempsey comments “This is a dream come true for me to be a National Ice Skating Association Professional Ice Skating Coach in
Northern Ireland and share my love and passion for this amazing sport with all others. I have been overwhelmed with the
response so far! 90% of my pupils who have already registered have never been on the ice before so it’s fantastic to be able to
introduce them to the sport that changed my life. I teach all ages & abilities and at present my youngest pupil is just 3 years old,
I take real pride in watching them progress & receive their progression certificates.
Throughout the years Dempsey has had the privilege to skate with many Skating Champions including Olympic legends Torvil &
Dean and perform in many professional Ice Shows across the UK with the World Famous Russian Ice Stars. My skating has taken
me around the world and I have also met many famous and exciting people on the way which I am very grateful for, including
filming with Zoe Salmon and Dancing on Ice Winner Maria Fillipov (to name a few) who have become personal and special
friends to me. I now want to open all these doors and pathways to my Academy pupils whilst guiding them thorough their
certificates and awards and helping them achieve their best”
It is so rewarding to see so many young people get involved with sport and fitness and I am also a Fitness Instructor & level 3
Personal Trainer so I want to be able to help them progress in this area also.
The Sky is the limited now for this blossoming long awaited Ice Skating Academy in Northern Ireland so If you’re interested in
