Our hopes are that most of the work designated for this expansion will be completed by the new year. We will then turn our attention to renovating the existing building. Once the new north wing is open for business, we will focus on renovations in the existing wing. A committee is working behind the scenes now on the best way to transition into the new space, bring all care providers and services to the main floor and ensure seamless healthcare throughout the process. Fundraising to meet our $650,000 + target remains ongoing to ensure we meet financial obligations including our mortgage payments. Donor support at the individual and corporate levels will remain a key factor in achieving our goal. Committees are planning more fundraising events for 2015 and we will continue to seek out potential grant opportunities. Thank you so much for all of your support in making the Expansion to the Medical Centre a reality, and providing our community with a Health Care Facility that we all can continue to be very proud of. //////////// IN THE WORKS: Stay tuned for another exciting evening in mid February filled with musical entertainment, and home cooking!!! Details to follow…. 4 September Press Release FOUNDERS VIEW PROGRESS AT ST. LAWRENCE DISTRICT MEDICAL CENTRE Founder level donors Grant & Alice Burton, Brenda Duffy and Helen Lochead met on Saturday, September 29th, at the Centre in Lansdowne to get a look at what progress was being made on the expansion to the Centre. Between them they have contributed about $90,000 to the building expansion campaign. Founder level donations begin at $25,000. The Campaign to date is at approximately $325,000, about half way up the fundraising thermometer toward the 650,000+ objective. It is still early stages of construction but the footprint for the new wing is clearly defined with the foundation poured and the lower level concrete walls in place. The new wing is slightly larger than the existing facility and will allow all the healthcare providers to integrate services on the main clinic level while the new Pharmasave on the ground level front will enjoy much more space for both dispensary and retail.
