Session I: Recalibrating Digital Conversations with AOL’s Digital Prophet
South Ballroom
The digital landscape is changing at a mind-bending pace. As the digital landscape continues to shift,
marketers need to move away from “campaigning” at consumers and toward having "conversations" with
them. In the embracing of a more humanized experience, attention is becoming the new currency
measured by dwell time and engagement – not just the quick drive-by of a “like” or a “follow." In what
will certainly be a dynamic, energetic and entertaining presentation, get enlightened by a meaningful and
insightful look at digital trends, how they are affecting behavior and what’s next on the digital journey
roadmap. Jump on this hyper-speed roller coaster for what will certainly be a dynamic, energetic and
inspiring presentation by David Shing as he discusses the evolving digital landscape and insights on where
this is all headed.

PTPA is undertaking the task of identifying and collecting the many different roles that PTV Programmers
play at stations. All of us know that the PTV Programmer is more than just a scheduler of programs, much
more. It is our hope that by collecting and disseminating the various functions currently undertaken by
PTV Programmers that PTPA can help shape the future of the Programmers role in the world of public
broadcasting. This session and discussion will be centered around the information gathered from the
questionnaire sent to station programmers in August.
