miraculous transformations happen on a regular basis!
This short 14-week Certificate is an ideal first step for anyone
with low secondary school qualifications who wants to get
into the beauty industry.
You’ll learn to provide manicure and pedicure services,
mini facials, eyelash tinting, eyebrow shaping and makeup
applications.
Learn customer service and sales skills for a range of products
including fragrance, hair care and men’s and women’s
toiletries – as well as essential reception and cashiering skills
which can be used in any service or retail role.
You’ll also learn vital health, safety and first aid skills – earning
a Comprehensive First Aid Certificate along the way.
The course will build your confidence and skills which will
allow you to work in beauty retail, on a beauty service
reception desk, or as a self-employed beauty service provider.
You can also choose further study and cross-credit what
you’ve learnt towards the Polytechnic’s Certificate in
Beautician and Cosmetology Level 4 programme.

services is steadily growing and
is being particularly driven by the
growing number of men who are
now recognising the importance of
professional grooming.
This is a rewarding industry because
it helps people look and feel better
about themselves.
Graduates can work as selfemployed beauty service providers,
or in retail selling cosmetics,
toiletries, beauty products and
services.
They also have the option of
continuing with further study
and cross-crediting their learning
into Bay of Plenty Polytechnic’s
Level 4 Certificate in Beautician
and Cosmetology.
