Thursday (10/23) – Late Start Bell Schedule #7 – Periods 2, 4, 6 Only – Defend your Gender Day
Friday (10/24) – Special Bell Schedule w/ PLC & PM Homecoming Assembly – Color Wars
2 Lab 200 will be closed at 2:25 today and, therefore, not available for after school drop ins.
COLLEGES, UNIVERSITIES & EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES:
1 WSU-Vancouver is having their annual LGBTQ college fair on this Saturday, October 25th. It will run from 12-3pm
in the Firstenburg student commons. If you are interested in attending this fair, inquire in the Career Center.
2 The Courage Essay contest is now open. If selected, student will be awarded 10,000 and a trip to Boston. See
Ms. Walcott in the Career Center for more information.
3 Ladies, if you are a senior and you are interested in pursuing a degree in transportation see Ms. Walcott in
the Career Center. The Women in Transportation society is offering a 1,000 scholarship to any female that
plans to pursue a career in a transportation-related field. The deadline for this scholarship is Wednesday, October
22nd
4 Kaiser Permanente has begun accepting applicants for their Health Care and Career Scholarships. Any seniors
interested in pursuing a career in the Dental or Medical field, this scholarship is for you. See Ms. Walcott in the
career center for further instruction on how to apply
5 Camas students are cordially invited to participate in a new tour process at Boeing Portland! The tour will
begin this Saturday, October 25, from 9am – 11am for students 15 years or older. If you are interested in
pursuing a career in manufacturing, please note that space is limited and advance registration is required
by Friday, October 10 and available on first-come, first-served basis. If you have any questions, Please see
Ms.Walcott in the Career Center.
SENIORS:
1 Senior Sweatshirts will be available for pickup today at lunch in front of the Career Center.
VOLUNTEER & JOB OPPORTUNITIES:
1 The food bank is planning to host its first Youth Service Day on Tuesday 11/11. This volunteer event will be
designed to give high school students the opportunity to learn about hunger in our community, as well the
importance of giving back and helping others. If interested, Please see Ms.Walcott in the Career center.
CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS:
1 Lit Lovers will be meeting tomorrow at 2:30 in the Library.
2 Do you want a head start in preparing yourself for a career in business, marketing, or just wanted To
advance your business education? If you do come check out FBLA (Future Business Leaders or America).
Meetings are every Wednesday in the Career Center right after school at 2:30. We hope to see you there.
MISCELLANEOUS
1 HOMECOMING DANCE—Tickets—will be sold before school, during lunches, and after school from the
ASB Office Ticket sales—Cost of tickets are $12 each and will end after lunches on Friday, 10/24/14. A
MAX OF 950 TICKETS WILL BE SOLD. NO TICKET SALES AT THE DOOR. IF YOU LOSE YOUR TICKETS
THEN YOU MUST PURCHASE NEW TICKETS. IF YOU FORGET YOUR TICKETS THEN YOU WILL NOT BE
ALLOWED ENTRY AT THE DOOR. YOU MUST PAY ALL FINES/FEES IN ORDER TO PURCHASE TICKETS
TO THE DANCE. Dance Pass—Remember that in order to bring a guest you must have a dance pass signed by
Asst. Principal Anderson and an administrator from the guest’s school; guests must be at least 9th grade and no
older than 20 years of age; dance passes can be picked up in the 11/12th grade Admin office or the Main office &
ARE DUE BY Thursday10/23/14..
2 Fully paid Foreign Exchanges: Would you like to spend next summer or next school year learning to speak
Arabic, Chinese, Hindi, Korean, Persian, Russian or Turkish? How about spending next year in Bosnia, Egypt,
India, Malaysia, Morocco, or the Philippines? See Mrs. Keene about US Government scholarships that will pay for
these exchanges. Deadline to apply is October 30th. This is not a CSD Sponsored Event.
