PTA MEETING
A meeting will take place on Tuesday, 21 October at 14:00 in the
Media Centre. All welcome!
NOTICES
WELCOME BACK
We hope you had a short, but restful holiday ready to tackle a very
busy term.
STAFF MATTERS
We welcome Mr. Coertze to the staff of King Edward. Mr. Coertze is a
math teacher of some years and hails from Eastleigh Primary. We trust
that his time at our school will be happy and rewarding.
EXTRA MURAL TIMETABLE
The Extra Mural program for the start of the term was loaded onto the
communicator this week. It would have looked a whole lot different to
its usual packed version. In order that the house plays get sufficient
time on the stage, and that the props and extras know their role, we
have decided that the focus MUST be on the House Plays for the rest
of the month. There will be another timetable released when the Plays
have run their course.
HOUSE PLAYS & CULTURAL WEEK
The dates have been set. The curtains will open at 18:30 each evening, 28-30 October. The production is set to last about two hours with
each house play about 20 minutes in length and a 20 minute interval.
Ticket sales will begin next week at R20 per seat. VIP evening will be
Thursday night at R60 per seat which includes a light meal. There are
a limited number of seats available after the invited guests have replied.
MERCHISTON WEEKEND
Next weekend we host Merchiston Preparatory School– a long standing tradition where our schools alternate the venue annually. Families
with boys taking part in the sporting program are asked to please consider opening their homes to the Merchiston boys. Support at all the
events will be greatly appreciated.
GRADE 6 & 7 EXAM PREPARATION
The exam timetables and study guides can be found on the Communicator in Resources under “Examinations”. Boys are advised to set time
aside each day to prep for the upcoming exams.
AGM
The Governing Body invites all parents to the AGM to be held in the
School Hall on Thursday, 6th November 2014 from 18:00– 19:00. It is
an extremely important meeting to attend. Parents are reminded that a
quorum is required.
