ACTIVITIES & NEWS
The Friendship Circle will meet on
Monday 20th October 2014
commencing at 9-30am. The theme for
the morning will be Health and
Wellbeing. Come and enjoy a lot of
Fun Food & Fellowship
Family BBQ, Sunday 26 October
5:00pm at MRUC. BYO food and drink.

some time with other families, please

Girls Time Out last Get Together for
the year for a Christmas Afternoon Tea
to be held in the Church Foyer on
Saturday 22nd of November from 2 till
4pm.Please bring a Christmas photo to
talk about and a $5 donation to a
Christmas Charity. Fun Fellowship and
afternoon Tea provided. Hope to see

Synod News
Tricia Elliot and Rev Rob are back from
Synod. It was a positive experience –
5 days with 300+ people all committed
to Christ, seeking God‟s direction on
many issues. We hope to share
information and stories with the
congregation over the next few
weeks. Of course for the “webbers”
there are stories online at

queensland-synod-news/.
You are invited to an Advent study
“Emmanuel: God is with us”
The Faith Formation team will be
running Advent studies using the
material “Emmanuel: God with us” by
Ann Siddall, a guide to prayer and
reflection during Advent. Rev Rob is to
lead a weekly group on Mondays at 1pm
starting on 24th November and concluding
on 22nd December. Ron Hawkins is
to lead a fortnightly group starting
Wednesday 7:30pm 19th November and
concluding on 17 December. Both
groups will meet at MRUC. Cost of books
is $10. There is a sign-up sheet in the
foyer for interested persons. If you have
any questions please chat to Rev Rob,
Ron Hawkins or Nicole Irwin.
Sunday Worship in November
On Sunday 2nd November our worship
services will include All Saints celebration
and memories. During our services we
will take time to remember those who
have passed away in the past 12
months. If you would like your loved one
named within the liturgy, please contact
Rev Rob.
On Sunday 9th November we will
celebrate A Sunday Together. Morning
tea will be held at 9.30am. Our
combined worship service will begin at
10.00am. (There will be no 8.30am
service.) Following the worship, we are
all invited/encouraged to get together
with other members of our church for
lunch – in a home, at a cafe, on a yacht,
in a tree, or any other creative (or maybe
suitable) venue. More details to follow.

Sunday Worship in November
On Sunday 16th November we will have a
Congregation Meeting starting at 9.20am
between the two morning services.
Therefore service times will be 8.30am9.15am and 10.30am-11.15am. Come and
worship. And come and be part of the
decision-making of our congregation.
Samaritans Purse
Thank you for all the beautiful gifts received
to brighten a child‟s Christmas this year. It
is not too late to bring last minute gifts in.
Any items donated that were either not
suitable or surplus to requirements have
been redirected to the Food Cupboard or
will be stored until they can be used.
Combined Mission Committee
Do HAVE A LOOK at the poster on the foyer
notice board that tells about the recipients
of proceeds from the recent GARAGE
SALE......and once again THANK YOU to all
who contributed to that successful day.
Do COME and JOIN US at the last
Committee meeting for the year which will
be on Wednesday 19th November at 7pm.
Everything in Common Gift Catalogue
This month‟s Journey magazine included
Uniting Worlds Everything in Common Gift
Catalogue. Giving a gift through Everything
in Common directly supports the work of
our church partners as they alleviate
poverty, responds to injustice and share
the good news. Gifts from $10 - $2500;
from school books to bee hives to training
midwives to building wells; support a
family or whole community.
