Scan Weight Muscle depth Fat Depth Gigot Index Choosing animals with high figures for this trait will increase mature size. Choosing animals with high muscle depth EBVs will increase lamb muscularity and hence the lean meat content of the carcase. Negative values indicate animals with lower fat content which will produce leaner carcases or which can be taken to higher weights without becoming over-fat. Breeding value highlighting animals with superior breeding potential for gigot shape (EBV only produced for breeds involved in CT scanning). Highlights superior breeding stock for a specific breeding objective. 2 2 General Information ARRIVAL All Sheep must arrive in the market before 8.30am on the sale day. Sheep may arrive on Wednesday afternoon, 22nd October by arrangement with Clive Roads (Tel: 01905 769770) or Brecon Market (01874 622386) CONDITIONS OF SALE All sheep will be sold subject to the Conditions of Sale of the British Charollais Sheep Society and to the Auctiioneer’s General Conditions of Sale, which are available in the Auctioneers office. The Sale will commence at 11.00am All sheep will be sold in guineas (105 pence) and strictly in catalogue order. All sheep to be sold singly. LICENSES Vendors are responsible for completing their standard movement Documents prior to the sale. The Market Holding Number is 52-063-8010 HEALTH The sheep are from Maedi Visna Accredited flocks registered with the SAC Sheep & Goat Health Scheme. All vendors must ensure that a fully completed MV certificate accompanies their sheep to the sale. INSPECTION All sheep will have been subject to inspection by an official Society Inspector. All sheep must have been paint branded with their lot number prior to inspection. PEDIGREE CERTIFICATES & SCRAPIE CERTIFICATES Pedigree Certificates will be available at the Auction Mart Office on the day of the sale, together with Scrapie Certificates (where applicable). All sheep in the sale are Full Pedigree Registered and will have a test result for scrapie genotype. BIO-SECURITY Current DEFRA regulations are to be observed. PURCHASERS Would prospective purchasers please have their CPH Number ready to supply to the auctioneer at the time of payment. No movement license will be issued without this information. SCRAPIE GENOTYPE RESULTS The Scrapie Genotype results listed in this catalogue are guaranteed to be correct by the person whose name appears as the Vendor in the catalogue. Whilst the Society will make all possible effort to provide purchasers with the correct information, they, nor the auctioneers, can in no way be held responsible for any error or ommission of information. SCANNING RESULTS All ewes will have been scanned and the results are printed in the catalogue or will be available on sale day. This in no way guarantees the number of lambs at birth.
